Leaf Wetness / Soil Moisture Station data to Wunderground

Post by BrentonSpear » Mon Mar 06, 2017 6:39 am

Hi,

I have a TL-WR3040 in place uploading data to Wunderground successfully.

My hardware consists of the following:
  • Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus - FARS installed
Leaf Wetness / Soil Station with 1 Soil Moisture sensor and 1 leaf wetness sensor - These are both plugged into the #1 position on the station.
    Envoy8x
The Pro2 Plus data is all uploading correctly but the soil moisture ('humidity') sensor does not show up on Wunderground.

In the 'Live Data' tab it shows:

Soil #30 3 sec -17.8°C 20cbar -0.0°F 20cbar
Soil #32 43 sec -17.8°C 0cbar -0.0°F 0cbar
Soil #33 43 sec -17.8°C 0cbar -0.0°F 0cbar
Leaf #36 43 sec 0.0°C 0wet 32.0°F 0wet

Soil #30 is the correct value I want to upload to Wunderground.
Soil #32 & Soil #33 are not related to any sensors I have attached - I am not sure why they are reporting.
Leaf #36 is my leaf wetness sensor and is working correctly but not uploading (showing up) to Wunderground.

My question is, how do I make sure that Soil #30 and Leaf #36 is uploaded to the correct values in Wunderground?

Thanks.

I have just done some more testing of the leaf soil station and found that the indoor console and the envoy8x is correctly picking up both the leaf wetness and soil moisture (humidity) sensors from the leaf / soil station.

Seems that the data is not being correctly transferred from the envoy8x to meteobridge.

Im still not sure why 2 of the soil moisture sensors are showing up in MB when nothing is connected to them.

This is what I currently see:

Soil #30 3 sec -17.8°C 44cbar -0.0°F 44cbar
Soil #32 27 sec -17.8°C 0cbar -0.0°F 0cbar
Soil #33 27 sec -17.8°C 0cbar -0.0°F 0cbar
Leaf #36 27 sec 0.0°C 0wet 32.0°F 0wet

Soil #30 is correctly reporting
Soil #32 has nothing connected to it
Soil #33 has nothing connected to it
Leaf #36 is the first leaf wetness connection in the station leaf soil station and is not reporting anything but my inside console is showing the right values.

With further testing it seems that the MB is only able to read one of the sensors at a time. Either the leaf wetness or the soil moisture.

I'm also seeing the extraneous sensor data on channels that don't exist. This only started happening once I added a soil temp/moisture station. However, they appear to be "secondary sensors", and don't affect my graph templates, so they don't bother me as much. But I am as curious as you why these extra values are showing up at all.

below is a snapshot of my live data. All sensors in bold are extraneous, and do not correspond to any actual sensors.

Looks to me like sporadically coming in data from an neighbor ISS. Just ignore and you are fine.
