I would like to see another value calculated in parallel with the existing rain rate. I know that the existing rain rate is standard, but it is not very interesting.

Instantaneous rain rate would be calculated as "size of tipping bucket"/"time between tipping bucket tips" normalized to inches/hour ...

There has been no missing data on Weatherundergound, and no entries in the log since I updated the sensitivity to -65 dB.
Looks like that fixed the problem.
