Re:Linux install of Meteohub
i would need ssh access from the internet. You have to forward the ssh port (22) on your router to the IP address of your VM machine. I would also need the root password of the METEOHUB machine. Last but not least I nee your WAN IP adress to be able to connect. If you want to move forward with this ...

Re:Linux install of Meteohub
Well, if you restarted httpd manually as advised earlier, that should pretty much be the last entry in the log file. Or you can just do a :
cat syslog | grep http
to filter out everything except httpd related stuff.

Re:Linux install of Meteohub
So the log file exists, but it is empty? Weird.
Can you verify the log file httpd is using in the config file?
cat /etc/thttpd.conf
you should something similar to the following:
port=8086
cgipat=**.cgi
dir=/srv/www
user=root
logfile=/data/log/thttpd.log
nochroot
nosymlink

Re:Linux install of Meteohub
Check in the httpd logfile as explained above. Hopefully it will tell us the reason why http did not start or crashed shortly after booting. Post the last lines of the log. Something along the line
tail -50 /data/log/thttpd.log
should give us an idea.

Re:Linux install of Meteohub
Try to see whether http server is running.
From the command line execute: ps -ef | grep http
The result should look similar to the following:
root 2137 1 0 Feb21 ? 00:07:41 /usr/sbin/thttpd -C /etc/thttpd.conf
root 2139 1 0 Feb21 ? 00:01:03 /usr/sbin/thttpdbackup -C /etc/thttpd-backup.conf

Re:Add compatibility with 1-wire sensors
skyewright, hope you will find the time to come out with a version for a 1-wire plugin you can share with all the non-coders among us.
Would love to get some of my 1-wire sensors online in meteohub.

Alternative platform
This might be a good future platform for METEOHUB. Unfortunately not yet available but I am sure keeping my eyes on it:

Re:vmware running on netbook (like asus eee pc?)
As mentioned earlier I am looking toward this route as well. They are getting cheaper by the day :)
It looks as if you have to tinker with it a little if you want to get Debian on it but support for the ASUS Ee PC seems to be underway (according to: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC).

Re:Manual input of Snow for display in WDL
I second that, but I would like to be able to create 'manual' sensors for all kind of information (such as snow). Would also like to track 'ice thickness', air-quality information etc.

Re:vmware running on netbook (like asus eee pc?)
Are you planning to use it as dedicated meteohub? If so I assume a native installation under linux might be better suited.
I am considering the same thing, but have to get my hand on a netbooks first.
