Re: Davis VP2+ => MB forecast data issue
I understand that I could directly feed my Steel Series gauges from the MB, BUT I loose quite a few of the gauges in the process such as solar. It appears that the Windows version of WD is handling the forecast code from the Davis console via MB passthru just fine, but the Mac version is NOT. I will ...

Davis VP2+ => MB forecast data issue
I am SO close to having the steel gauges suite completely operational. In fact ALL the gauges ARE working, but we are having an issue with the forecast info present on the VP2+ console flowing thru the MB. The VP2+ is connected by a Belfryboy USB data logger to my meteobridge. I am then using ...

Re: anemometer correction factor
As you stated "you think". Everyone is entitled to their opinion of MADIS data and to act, or not, accordingly.

Re: anemometer correction factor
There is a ASOS station (airport) about 10 miles away, several PWSs within 5 miles and a large # of PWSs within 15 miles. We are outside of the city so winds blow pretty much unperturbed and the area is relatively flat. The errors I am seeing are not dramatic and if you use the rule of thumb of 30 ...

Re: anemometer correction factor
Thanks!
I alway use either the 7 or 14 day CWOP wind analysis to determine how much, if any, correction as I know all too well that chasing short term only introduces errors. My approach is to make a correction that is 1/2 of the indicated error and then track it for a week or more. Thanks again for ...

anemometer correction factor
In the migration from AW hardware using their ObserverIP box to my Meteobridge over to my new Davis VP2 Plus with a Belfryboy USB logger feeding the MB, I LOST the ability to effect ANY corrections to my anemometer (ObserverIP gave me that ability while I used AW hardware). MB does allow me to ...

Re: Note on Ambient Weather Network
I would tend to agree that the AW network link in Weather Networks is worthless at this point. Ed (AW) has made it clear that their site is ONLY interested in data from equipment bought from AW. That it is a business decision he had made. It seems very shortsighted. I had (VERY past tense)been using ...

Re: Ambient weather upload
Confirmed with Ed @ Ambient. They decided to cut off everything but the MAC addresses of devices sold thru Ambient Weather. The $150 fee is the delta between a DIY Meteobridge and the WeatherBridge (AW branding) of the exact same thing.

Re: WU send frequency issue
I appreciate the added details of the logic behind triggering an update to WU. FYI, I am a retired, enterprise solutions architect, so SW is second nature to me having architected, written, debugged, and supported programs running well in the million of lines of complex code over the years.

Re: WU send frequency issue
My wind info IS changing more frequently than every 15 seconds! Also I have noticed a few times where the refresh occurred when there actually was NO change in the data. This appears to be an abritrary hard setting rather than a dynamic one. One of the best features of MB was that it did NOT try to ...

WU send frequency issue
In version prior to 3.4, the setting of every 5 seconds for Weather Underground worked perfectly. With v3.4, even with every 5 seconds set, the MB is sending new data every 15 seconds. I have rebooted the MB but same results.
