Why don't you suggest doing both? It would be nice to use Meteobridge and feed cumulus with it. Best of both worlds.

I see that Meteobridge can share a connection since version 2.5.I'm using a davis USB data logger with a VP2.

Would this work with software like VirtualVP? If so would it then be able to feed multiple weather software like weather display, cumulus etc
