Re: Weather Network Backfill

Hi there, Chris!

You and Boris need to collaborate on this! I'm pretty sure that y'all could make this come to fruition.

I'm still running on NSLU2, but I know that Meteohub can run on x86. I think you could do a VM.

Uncertain how exactly it pulls data from the internal logger, but I know it does ...

Re: Weather Network Backfill

I don't know if he's still around on the forums, but at one point Chris had come up with something that did this for Weather Underground. I successfully tested it during a hurricane (my station is in Louisiana).

An update to Meteohub kept this from working, though. This, paired with the new (and ...

Good to know! When my little NSLU2 bites the dust, I'll upgrade.

Re:NLSU2 wireless

Sorry... still using an NSLU2 here. Haven't kept up with the happenings of Meteohub outside of my little universe :-)

Re:IP Webcam support or Image upload support

At one point, Meteohub did support USB webcams. However, it was always very experimental, and I think that it was too big of a performance hit, so it was dropped.

IP-cams should be able to upload by themselves. At least, that's what I have mine set up to do.

Re:NLSU2 wireless

I might be wrong, but natively I do not think that Meteohub supports this functionality.

What might be a better fit for you is one of those wireless game adapters (bridges) that would let you hook a wireless transceiver that's joined to your network to the RJ-45 port on the back of your Meteohub ...

Yes, I agree. This has been something that I would love to see happen. You can check my response over in the Whishes section.

Re:Vantage Pro 2 Data Logger

Agreed, agreed, agreed. Especially since the Vantage2 logger/console can work off of batteries for weeks. I live in Louisiana, and during hurricane season, it's always a gamble as to whether I can run the Meteohub to log the data or lose it when the power and the UPS it is on fails.

It's a paradox ...

Re:Way to turn off SSH via web interface?

Errr, I understand and agree, but I was unnerved by someone trying to bruteforce it. Maybe a 3-incorrect password timeout or something?

Way to turn off SSH via web interface?

Hello!
I was playing around on the Meteohub this morning and looked at the log files, and it turns out that someone was trying to bruteforce my Meteohub!

I moved the SSH port to a non-standard port, but I was wondering if there was a way to turn off SSH via the web interface. I know there is a ...

Re:Upload historical data to Weather Underground

Boris,
What would be the chances of pulling data from the Vantage Pro2's datalogger? It would be a lot easier, especially in times of power outages, then keeping the NSLU2 running.

Thanks,
Branson

I'm station D0240 on MADIS through CWOP.

I will keep the Internet connection up as much as possible, but I am going to have to upload historical data after the fact. My ...

Re:Getting a Station Ready for a Hurricane

My station is on an APC Back-UPS BK650MC with a brand-new battery I installed 2 weeks ago. It's rated for 650VA.

In theory, you're right. The Back-UPS runs off of a 12v 12ah battery. However, what I'm most worried about are the inefficiencies of inverting the power from 12v DC to 120v AC, then back ...

Re:Meteohub Update 2.7a (experimental)

No problem. Meteohub is recognizing the sensor and is showing its value, but it just isn't getting to Wunderground. Will install update as soon as it is available and let you know. It's getting dark here, so I might have to wait until the morning to see if the update fixes the issue.
