Re: Feature Request FTPS with Passive mode

Man, you two are like Putin and Zelenskyy

Sorry, this is not funny but simply extremely disgusting. How can you dare to compare the democratic elected president with a dictator who is brutally invading its neighbouring smaller country and put these on the same level for comparison? Even worse ...

Re: Airlink - Disconnection Station Timeout

David, agreed. Mesh is just a huge mess. Each vendor has proprietary mechanisms, and IEEE has no established standards beyond the recommendation stage. Even worse, if you have any Google NEST or Amazon Alexa devices, thier vendors allow them to join in act as mesh nodes.

I turned bridge mode on as ...

Re: Airlink - Disconnection Station Timeout

I have specifc 2.4GHz networks for all my weather related kit [Separate SSIDs for 5GHz traffic]. All wifi SSIDs use the same private subnet.

Jason, good job checking the boxes, let me throw out a few more:

Firewall? Even intra-Vlan traffic may pass though a firewall, especially if ARP is ...

....

- are you running a mesh system with the same SSID? .....

That caused me a world of grief. All runs smooth now with nodes in bridge mode.

Amen…. When on mesh our iPads and iPhones would get stuck on our bedroom WAP, and slow to a crawl in our living room that has its own AP. We had to ...

Re: Airlink - Disconnection Station Time

- Or perhaps interference. The Davis Airlink isn’t very robust and has no Forward Error Correction, just a CRC check; packet error will cause retransmissions and jitter, once the jitter threshold is exceeded the the receiver will report down. Can you move the Airlink temporarily to another location ...

Re: Feature Request FTPS with Passive mode

Kostas, this may work, but requires a windows pc in the middle as a file handler:

PyrobatchFTP, it has a 30 day free evaluation license. Download the server version; the client version requires a user to remained logged in, the server version can run ...

Heres one even cheaper in the US, SAW bandpass filter tuned for 868Mhz:

I didn't mention it before, and while it seems like overkill you need a lightning ...

Custom Pi enclosure with 20x4 LCD

Last spring I had a seller on Etsy create a custom case for a PI 4 with an integrated 20x4 LCD. Ron is an engineer that has a 3d print design business on the side, not trying to promote this seller but thought his products might be of interest to those with the Meteobridge Pi version.

My design ...

Re: Lighting Distance Sensor for Aurora Templates

We had a thunderstorm this morning, I was able to compare the aurora lightning box with the Ecowitt display side by side

Each time I got a strike it was displayed properly on the Ecowitt, but the aurora readings were all over the place and many times didn’t update at all. Sometimes the number of ...

Re: Place of meteobridge pro 2

Your antenna will work, just not efficiently. Yes, the 900mhz freq is a multiple of the resonant 440mhz freq and will work, but it will be very inefficient. Think of a guitar string, you normally pluck the string at tuned mid point to produce an audible freq, but if you pluck it higher or lower the ...

Yup…

That’s why I want to supply him with direct links if he’s interested. Don’t want to buy RP-SMA connectors, made that mistake one time after driving two hours to a remote site. Two hours back to the base, back to the site, back to the base; eight hours to replace a one meter piece of coax, not ...

Lighting Distance Sensor for Aurora Templates

Not sure if this is a template problem or my configuration.

All of the Aurora templates I try will only display my lightning strike counts, but not distance to the station. Lighting distance is reported to Meteobridge, and Meteobridge has an existing mapping variable to support it, a placeholder ...

Re: Place of meteobridge pro

If you really want to do this cheaply you can make your own using a coat hanger or copper wire, a BNC or SO bulkhead connector with a solder lug, four single solder lugs, and a one meter piece of junk pvc pipe for a mast.

I’ve made several dozen for my aircraft ADSB Receivers, they work fine, a ...
