First, thanks for the tip.
Ok, here is the update. I put in an older flash drive I had, which was running v 3.3. It received the data no problem. So, I stuck the original flash drive back in and now it sees the WH-1080 in the Weather Station list at the top as USB HID device. However, I am unable ...

On the sensors tab, the following shows up in red text now.
