Re: Logging failed w/invalid system date, Davis Vantage Pro

Boris has connected to my system and it looks like he has this figured out. He said "root cause for the "halted data logging" problem after reboot is that your sheevaplug does loose date/time from hw clock (most probably worn out battery). Result is,
that data logging does stop because date/time is ...

Re: Logging failed w/invalid system date, Davis Vantage Pro

BTW, logging stopped overnight. I didn't have a chance to look at any detail, but it appears to have stopped after the daily overnight reboot.

Re: Logging failed w/invalid system date, Davis Vantage Pro

I tried setting "Radio Clock" to "Station-1: System Data (WeatherPlug)". This didn't seem to work, so I set it back to "not used'. All of a sudden (after a long period to recalculate weather data), it started logging, and I'm back up and running.

I did see occasional "No data upload to weather ...

Logging failed w/invalid system date, Davis Vantage Pro

Meteohub is not processing station data since the 4.9u update. After a reboot, it reads the log from the station, then starts complaining that the system date is not properly set, so logging can't start. The system date on System Info is correct.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

Re: Scheduled FTP transfer fails, but upload test succeeds

I've had the same problem. Check your password or login. i've set password with % and it's generated an error.
Three questions:

Does the upload test succeed for you?

Are you saying you are having problems with passwords that contain the percent character?

What error are you getting? Mine simply ...

Re: Scheduled FTP transfer fails, but upload test succeeds

perhaps the FTP uploads are simply not being scheduled for some reason?
I got some hints from http://forum.meteohub.de/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8086&p=8456&hilit=cron#p8456

Looking at crontab -l I see the following (full output at bottom of post):

Re: Scheduled FTP transfer fails, but upload test succeeds

have you tried setting an immediate email notification for when the FTP upload fails? That way you would at least know if the Meteohub is recognizing that it has failed in its uploads.
Good suggestion. I tried this and didn't receive any emails. Any ideas?

Re: Vantage Pro 2 USB and meteohub

Yes, you need to select "USB serial". This is the proper setting when you have the Vantage with the built-in serial-usb converter (the one you have) or if you have a serial Vantage with an external serial-USB converter (the one I have).

For "device" you will choose one of the options (like ... /dev ...

WD Live fails with "Error Loading Data"

When I click on WD-Live "Display &Save" I see the pop-up window, but it does not show the WD Live Screen. It shows:

Loading (0% to 99%)
Loading Configuration
Loading Data
Error Loading Data (and it says "Waiting for 192.168.1.4" the address of my meteohub).

Scheduled FTP transfer fails, but upload test succeeds

[3/2/2011 Edited to make the log files more readable]

I've set up FTP transfers as documented, and the upload test succeeds (meteohub-upload.test file shows up in the desired location when pressing save&test).

SMTP "Mail Send failed: 0 (null)" with 4-digit port

I'm getting the following error on test of my email setup. This only occurs when I use the four-digit port (2525); when I use the three-digit port provided by my ISP (587) it works just fine. I routinely use the four-digit port number with other email clients, so I know this works. I'm wondering if ...
