Yellow Ready/Status light Lock up

Post by follower » Thu Jan 06, 2011 8:47 pm

Linux Kernel: 2.6.21.7 266 BogoMIPS, 30 MB RAM, NSLU2 (266 MHz)
MeteoHub: 4.6m (Build 155)
Storage
Swap: 0MB of 127MB used (0%)
System: 395MB of 402MB used (98%)
Data: 899MB of 3214MB used (28%)
Could this lock up be caused by running short of System Storage being at 98%?

Quite possibly. If find that powering down the NSLU2 and restarting it can often clear some system space.

Solution:

Here is a follow up on this problem. I rebuilt the system on another memory stick from the image file and the status looks much better. So this was likely not an NSLU2 hardware problem, but the memory stick instead.

Linux Kernel: 2.6.21.7 266 BogoMIPS, 30 MB RAM, NSLU2 (266 MHz)
MeteoHub: 4.7 (Build 215) ©2010 by Boris Pasternak, info@meteohub.de
Swap: 0MB of 127MB used (0%)
System: 214MB of 402MB used (53%)
Data: 928MB of 3180MB used (29%)

When it was failing it used 98% of the system space of 402MB which is the same in both cases. The rebuilt system is using 53% and so far appears to be stable.
