Need some help uploading snapshots from my ReoLink RLC-510WA and meteobridge to the web or template. **solved**

Post by Adrianwx23 »

Hello,

I noticed there is a tab in my meteobridge to add a webcam which in this case would be my RLC-510WA. I would like to be able to save snap shots or live footage to the web or a template. I read something about meteobridge free hosting service? Were can i find this. Also how can i add the current conditions from my tempest weather station overlayed to each image? Any help setting this up or simple intructions i would really appreciate it.

Thanks

To do the overlay you need two things setup:
1) The webcam you're using needs to be accessible to the Meteobridge you're using. Meteobridge -> Station ->Cam. I can access my webcam over my wifi and grab a static picture. The URL for this is what goes in the external picture URL. Others push their webcam image to their website and refer to that URL in this field on the Meteobridge.
2) The overlay is achieved by using the Meteobridge -> Weather Nets section and adding in the Meteobridge Weather Camera and specifying the overlay of your choice. I use the code below which generates the picture you see below.

Code: Select all

-resize 1706x960 -fill green -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 10 820 210 950 10 10" -fill red -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 220 820 420 882 10 10" -fill blue -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 220 888 420 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 430 820 610 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 620 820 840 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 850 820 1050 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 1060 820 1260 950 10 10" -fill blue -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 1270 820 1470 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 1480 820 1690 950 10 10" -pointsize 24 -fill white -draw "text 20 850 'Temperature'" -fill white -draw "text 440 850 'Humidity'" -fill white -draw "text 630 850 'Pressure'" -fill white -draw "text 860 850 'Wind'" -fill white -draw "text 1070 850 'Gust'" -fill white -draw "text 1280 850 'Rain'" -fill white -draw "text 1490 850 'Air Quality'" -pointsize 38 -fill white -draw "text 20 894 '[th0temp-act.1:--]C'" -fill white -draw "text 440 894 '[th0hum-act.0:--]%'" -fill white -draw "text 630 894 '[thb0seapress-act.1:--] hPa'" -fill white -draw "text 860 894 '[wind0avgwind-act=mph.1:--] mph'" -fill white -draw "text 1070 894 '[wind0wind-dmax=mph.1:--] mph'" -fill white -draw "text 1280 894 '[rain0total-sumday.1:--] mm'" -pointsize 22 -fill white -draw "text 20 930 '[hh]:[mm]'" -fill white -draw "text 440 930 'DewPt [th0dew-act.1:--]C'" -fill white -draw "text 630 930 '[thb0seapress-delta3h=enbarotrend]([thb0seapress-delta3h=barotrend.2:--] hPa)'" -fill white -draw "text 860 930 '[wind0dir-avg10.000:--]°'" -fill white -draw "text 1070 930 '[wind0wind-dmaxtime.ij:--]:[wind0wind-dmaxtime.kl:--]'" -fill white -draw "text 1280 930 '[YYYY]: [rain0total-yearsum.1:--] mm'" -fill white -draw "text 1490 890 'PM2.5: [air1!1pm-act.1:--] µg/m³'" -fill white -draw "text 1490 930 'PM10: [air1!0pm-act.1:--] µg/m³'" -pointsize 28 -fill white -draw "text 230 850 'Max [th0temp-dmax.1:--]C'" -fill white -draw "text 230 918 'Min [th0temp-dmin.1:--]C'" -pointsize 16 -fill white -draw "text 230 876 '[th0temp-dmaxtime.ij:--]:[th0temp-dmaxtime.kl:--]'" -fill white -draw "text 230 944 '[th0temp-dmintime.ij:--]:[th0temp-dmintime.kl:--]'" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 10 750 420 810 10 10" -pointsize 44 -fill white -draw "text 20 795 'JMFweather.uk'"

The hard part is that this is going to be limited by the functionality of your webcam and how it access/saves snapshots or how other services can access it to grab a snapshot. A quick google turned up this which may help you https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/ar ... b-Browsers which, once you've worked out your URL for grabbing a snapshot via http you can use in your Meteobridge as per #1 above.

Hi guys, the overlay code jason sent me includes air quality which my Tempest station does not put out. Is there anyway someone can repost the code without the "air quality" and "JMFweather.uk?" I am a bit nervous in doing it on my own and messing it all up. I would really appreciate it as i am going to be installing my cam soon and really like that overlay.

Thanks again.

Try this version (removes site & AQI data + the background boxes for both):

Code: Select all

-resize 1706x960 -fill green -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 10 820 210 950 10 10" -fill red -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 220 820 420 882 10 10" -fill blue -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 220 888 420 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 430 820 610 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 620 820 840 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 850 820 1050 950 10 10" -fill black -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 1060 820 1260 950 10 10" -fill blue -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 1270 820 1470 950 10 10" -pointsize 24 -fill white -draw "text 20 850 'Temperature'" -fill white -draw "text 440 850 'Humidity'" -fill white -draw "text 630 850 'Pressure'" -fill white -draw "text 860 850 'Wind'" -fill white -draw "text 1070 850 'Gust'" -fill white -draw "text 1280 850 'Rain'" -fill white -draw "text 1490 850 'Air Quality'" -pointsize 38 -fill white -draw "text 20 894 '[th0temp-act.1:--]C'" -fill white -draw "text 440 894 '[th0hum-act.0:--]%'" -fill white -draw "text 630 894 '[thb0seapress-act.1:--] hPa'" -fill white -draw "text 860 894 '[wind0avgwind-act=mph.1:--] mph'" -fill white -draw "text 1070 894 '[wind0wind-dmax=mph.1:--] mph'" -fill white -draw "text 1280 894 '[rain0total-sumday.1:--] mm'" -pointsize 22 -fill white -draw "text 20 930 '[hh]:[mm]'" -fill white -draw "text 440 930 'DewPt [th0dew-act.1:--]C'" -fill white -draw "text 630 930 '[thb0seapress-delta3h=enbarotrend]([thb0seapress-delta3h=barotrend.2:--] hPa)'" -fill white -draw "text 860 930 '[wind0dir-avg10.000:--]°'" -fill white -draw "text 1070 930 '[wind0wind-dmaxtime.ij:--]:[wind0wind-dmaxtime.kl:--]'" -fill white -draw "text 1280 930 '[YYYY]: [rain0total-yearsum.1:--] mm'" -pointsize 28 -fill white -draw "text 230 850 'Max [th0temp-dmax.1:--]C'" -fill white -draw "text 230 918 'Min [th0temp-dmin.1:--]C'" -pointsize 16 -fill white -draw "text 230 876 '[th0temp-dmaxtime.ij:--]:[th0temp-dmaxtime.kl:--]'" -fill white -draw "text 230 944 '[th0temp-dmintime.ij:--]:[th0temp-dmintime.kl:--]'"

Hi Jason! I did it! Looks great man 😍

Can you please resend me the code with the temperatures in Fahrenheit? 🙏🏻

Also noticed some of the color blocks are cut off on the image and my weather station numbers and the actual cam image is not updating and it’s set to 10 min intervals. Can any one provide some assistance?

Firstly, as per this link (https://meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/ ... e_Handling) there is a section on image handling on the Meteobridge forum
You are looking to change temperature values from C to F. You want to find items like this:

Code: Select all

-draw "text 20 894 '[th0temp-act.1:--]C'"
and change it to this

Code: Select all

-draw "text 20 894 '[th0temp-act=F.1:--]F'"
Do this for all temperature (& dewpoint). You can similarly change wind speeds from MPH to KM/S or Knots or Beaufort in a similar way.

As per your data boxes being cut off this is dependent on the ratio of your original image size and the subsequent effect of the resize. You can try to reduce the font size (look for -pointsize in the code) and then reduce the size and position of the boxes. Each box has a co-ordinates system:

Code: Select all

-fill green -draw "fill-opacity 0.7 roundrectangle 10 820 210 950 10 10"
This will create a green rounded corner box, at 70% solid (30% transparent), starting a 10px from the left and 820px from the top, extending to 210px from the left and 950px from the top with a 10px rounded corners.

You may end up doing what I did which was to draw a scale diagram on paper of the co-ordinates based on my raw image size and then re-work that for a scaled image. Text sizing can be a bit trial and error.

You have enough to get going and it's not difficult but just needs a bit of patience and thought as to what you want to display and how.

I also like the design of the weather annotations. Would you mind when add something derived from that as one of the default options to choose from? Any name suggestion I should use for it?

Boris, feel free. It was an adaptation i made from an example another user in the forum. (An earlier thread discusses it.)

As for naming it i have no preference. Box-style vs (the original) Strip-style?
