zeroconf/Bonjour support?

Post by siegel » Thu Jan 10, 2019 7:37 pm

Good { morning, afternoon, evening },

I'm a new Meteobridge customer, installed it on a TP-LINK MR-3020 and connected to a Davis Vantage Pro2. It's working great, and I'm very happy so far.

While configuring the system, I had a thought: if the Meteobridge were advertising itself via zeroconf (known to macOS users as "Bonjour"), it might help smooth the setup process, since the user wouldn't need to figure out which IP address had been assigned via DHCP by the router, and could simply use "http://meteobridge.local./" to connect.

Would it be possible to add this support to a future version of the firmware? (And for bonus points, being able to configure the advertised name might be nice-to-have.)

(This is not an issue for me personally; I have already gotten it set up and have configured my DHCP server to vend a fixed address to the Meteobridge.)

Thanks for reading! :-)
