TL-MR3020 has stopped uploading data...

Post by rmccullough »

This has happened on the 13th, 18th, 22nd, and today. Up until today a reboot would resolve whatever the issues were. Today is the first time that a reboot has not resolved the issue. After a reboot it will only upload data once.

Code: Select all

no	Meteoplug Cloud:	2021-01-23 19:06:19 Success: 2021-01-23 19:06:18

It is getting live data from the station:

Code: Select all

#	Sensor	Signal	Metric Data	Imperial Data
0	Outdoor	23 sec	2.3°C 90% (dew 0.8°C, heat 2.3°C)	36.1°F 90% (dew 33.4°F, heat 36.1°F)
0	Wind	1 sec	0.0m/s (avg 0.0m/s) 117° ESE	0.0mph (avg 0.0mph) 117° ESE
0	Rain	3 sec	rate 0.0mm/h	rate 0.00in/h
0	Indoor	39 sec	20.4°C 45% 1017.9hPa (1008.3hPa)	68.7°F 45% 30.06inHg (29.78inHg)
I was on the most up to date SW but tried rolling back to 4.4. But nothing changed.

Here's the current system info. I do notice that the buffer slowly rises over time.

Code: Select all

Platform:	TL-MR3020 (plus USB hub)
RAM:	29364 kB total, 3256 kB free (88% used)
SW Version:	Meteobridge 5.1 (Jan 18 2021, build 14277), FW 1.4
Uptime:	0 hours, 9 minutes Buffer: 77 items (8%)

Going back to former version anytime any problem occurs seems to have evolved as a standard procedure. I do not recommend that.

I share your idea that a creeping buffer fill up might be the root cause. Do you have a combination of fast firing uploads with retry options? This would be my first look. When data send commands stack up in the buffer Meteobridge might be occupied so much to get that sent that current transfers are put into the queue for being handled later.

Noted about the downgrading... It didn't seem to make anything worse though. I'm back on the latest version now.

I had WUnderground set to retry 5 times, Home Weather Station and CWOP set to 10. All were set to upload at the fastest speed possible.

To test I set them all to no retries then restarted. No change.

Now I just tried removed all weather networks, rebooted and checked the buffer. It wasn't going up. Which I expected.

So I went ahead and added WUnderground back and set it to 5 second upload and no retries. Now the buffer is starting to fill up again and the upload status just said "No weather network traffic". So I rebooted. Now it says:

Code: Select all

Weather Underground:	2021-01-24 11:16:23 Error: 2021-01-24 11:16:19 wget: unable to resolve host address 'rtupdate.wunderground.com' (no more tries)
I can ping that URL from my computer:

Code: Select all

C:\Users\Ryan>ping rtupdate.wunderground.com

Pinging prod-pws-ng-546567-997b58a668d15d562a6bed58ea7c5f9e-0001.us-south.containers.appdomain.cloud [169.60.133.174] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 169.60.133.174: bytes=32 time=68ms TTL=54
Reply from 169.60.133.174: bytes=32 time=67ms TTL=54
Reply from 169.60.133.174: bytes=32 time=68ms TTL=54
Reply from 169.60.133.174: bytes=32 time=70ms TTL=54

Ping statistics for 169.60.133.174:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 67ms, Maximum = 70ms, Average = 68ms
Now there is something else strange happening. The WUnderground site for my station has data for most of last night. Including times that I checked it when it was not reporting anything... I also noticed that the only time that WUndergound says my station is offline is when my meteobridge is off/rebooting.

Well it appears to be working fine now... I'm going to slowly add the weather networks back and see what happens.
