matt i do not get your comment when you talk about 5 second basis....
the station is sending data every 5 seconds to meteobridge.....so the single data is the only value we have of those 5 seconds....
did you mean something different?

I sorry but just not seeing the point re direction of peak gust in the past 10 minutes and what the relevance of it is especially re the sailing example? What good is the direction of the peak gust say 9 minutes ago when sailing?

sorry matt, maybe i was not clear enough.
of course it is not useful While sailing....!!!!
it is usefull to know the condition Before going to sail!! I am specifically talking about windsurfing and kitesurfing in waves.
For this sport it is particularly important the direction of the wind, because comparing wing direction with wave direction you can understand if the conditions are good or not.
sorry if in the previous post i was just going to the point without explaining enough

how would it be the sintax to have the direction of the wind peak of the last 10 minutes?
The implementation shown above uses the "@" pattern to address data from the USB storage of a MB PRO that holds all the weather data history. This storage is limited to an hourly resolution. So this way you cannot get data from smaller time frames.

In addition we have a cache of live data which is covering the last x hours where we have data on a per minute base. I will think how to address data from there. Please give me a few days to explore some ideas. I cannot promise a solution but will start thinking...
Hello Boris, did you try to find solution to this?
Thanks
Fabio

you said that all data of the last hour is stored in the meteobridge; isn’t it possible to access uo those data?

As a fellow windsurfer I appreciate your interest in the direction of the peak gust. I do not know the geography of your sailing location but in my location, cross offshore winds (which are in general great for windsurfing) are very gusty in strength and direction. However, what you are asking for would have little relevance to my location with a shore mounted ISS because the wind measured on the shore is greatly different to that experienced just a few hundred metres offshore. So even if I had the data you are requesting it would not help my windsurfing much as it would not be representative of the conditions I would actually be sailing in.

My solution was to mount a wireless ISS on a reef 400m offshore. The analogue windsock is of course a great indicator of both wind strength and direction while you are on the water.

The MeteobridgePro is about 500m from the Vantage View ISS and receives the signal via a Davis solar power wireless repeater. The MeteobridgePro and attached Huawei USB 3G dongle are off grid and are powered by a 12V to5V USB converter which is driven by a 120W Solar panel connected to a 100W SLA 12V battery via a 10A MPPT charge controller.

Douglas,
thank you very much for sharing! You realized the dream of any wind/kite surfer: to have the anemometer directly in the water!!!!!
Unfortunately I live in Italy and here it is banned even to think to install something in the water or on the reef!!!
In my case to know the wind direction during the peaks is predictable of what is happening in the sea....
For this reason I solved in this way: I record all the wind+wind direction readings coming from my meteobridge (every 5 seconds) and I store alle the data of the last 10 minutes. Every time I calculate the peak and so I can read the direction of those peaks....
It would be very useful if the meteobridge could do this automatically.....since this would avoid all the heavy calculations afterwords....
Thanks to anybody for contributing with ideas...
Fabio
