MB Pro suddenly stopped working **solved**

Post by chrysnic » Sat Dec 29, 2018 4:03 pm

Hi all,

My MB Pro has suddenly stopped working properly. It does not reboot through the browser interface, and when I unplug it from the power and plug it back in again after some time, it boots but has near-zero functionality. I am attaching 2 screenshots.

When I connect to the box through SMB, I can see the "data" directory, but the directory is empty.

Does this sound like a failure of the flash storage?

Thanks,

chrysnic

Flash storage? Being Intenso that is possible, how old is the USB stick?

I bought the MB Pro in January 2016. I do not have any external USB device attached to the MB Pro.

Thanks,

2 years old then I might suspect the internal (Intenso) especially as it appears your MB is rather busy? You could test this by adding an external USB stick to the front panel (assuming it's not populated with another device?) and setting the database media: drop down to "USB stick on front panel" and reboot

If front USB port is taken then use the rear micro and adapter tail and set database media accordingly

Thank you very much Mattk!! After adding an external USB stick to the front panel and rebooting, the MB Pro is back to full functionality! Thus, the problem is with the internal storage. Is it easy/advisable to open the MB Pro and replace the internal storage? If yes, are there any particular requirements pertaining to the type/size/etc. of the new internal storage?

Thanks,

chrysnic

Yes fairly straight forward to REPLACE, Boris has a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn0_tM_jjZI

USB does need to be a specific physical size, Transcend Jetflash 710 will fit but by far the better option is the ATP (SLC) NANO DURA
AF1GUFNDNC
AF4GUFNDNC
AF8GUFNDNC

When my original drive failed I replaced it with AF8GUFNDNC works just fine.

Thanks Mattk and Ag2000CO! I have ordered the 8 GB version of the ATP stick (AF8GUFNDNC).
