Weather 34 built into Nano SD

Post by garybridge »

I think I must be missing something after upgrading to 4.4 on the Nano SD, I can see my data on Brians’s excellent Template, however I can’t configure anything if I click on the setup icon I get the familiar enter password screen, but if I click login I get a 404 error message...
I tried another update on the meteobridge...no difference.

What an I doing wrong?

Looks like an incomplete install to me. please remove the version file by calling

Code: Select all

http://ip-of-your-meteobridge/cgi-bin/system.cgi?rm /tmp/mnt/PWS/version
Having done that, reboot and wait until LED returns to steady on. This might take a few minutes as the dashboard and php basics are loaded from the Internet.

As I am not at home I tried.....

Code: Select all

https://admin.meteobridge.com/string-that-I-use-when-logging-into-my-meteobridge-remotely/cgi-bin/system.cgi?rm /tmp/mnt/PWS/version
I got a screen with a couple of lines on it but no error messages.
Rebooted the meteobridge tried again but the result was the same as before

I then tried the code above again, got the same result
couple of lines

I then ran the code again without rebooting and it said
Not found, which makes me believe the code worked. After a further reboot I can open the Weather template but still cannot get into the setup page

The padlock shows a unlocked but a page not found error occurs when I push the login button.

I would be thinking to do this you would need remote DNS access through your router?

I really don’t understand what you mean? From the remote access system via meteobridge.com it looks like one can do virtually a thing that can be done by logging in locally. In the same way as Teamviewer does not need any accesss. The local device ( in our case the meteobridge has a permanent session to the meteobridge platform.?

No not everything, logging in is one thing but accessing the underlying files is not available from the MB login, generally you need to access files on the device not the device itself. For example a remote (server) login doesn't give you remote SMB access as you might access from your desktop locally. There is an option to upload files to SMB but not action/run anything?

Ok take your point...
However, that is at odds with what happened, I ran the code once, got a certain response, run it a second time & it tells me the direction doesn’t exist..
Reboot the meteobridge, run the code a 3rd time get a response....run it a 4th time it doesn’t exist again...

I can reproduce the bug. It just occurs when you login from remote. Operation works fine on local login.

I just did a reset reinstall of the Weather 34 Dashboard on my Nano SD and it did not install the most current version but left the very old version I originally had.

The old one (with the graphs) was not removed to avoid protest from the ones using this.
The new one (without graphs) comes on top. Please visit "Dashboard" tab on "Live Data" section.
