template metachart for detect lighnings Ecowitt WH57 / Froggit DP60
Hello.
Has anyone already created a metachart template for the Ecowitt WH57 / Froggit DP60 lightning detector?
Could you attach it in this forum?

No, as I can't get Rpi 4 to detect the lighting sensor. Can you tell me how you got it?
Re: template metachart for detect lighnings Ecowitt WH57 / Froggit DP60
In my experience the lightning sensor shows only up in the live data when a lightning is recorded - and then for some time after that.
For how long exactly I haven't fully traced.
Not sure if a reboot of the GW1000 or what makes the info disappear.
The proper recording of lightning in MB has in my memory always been an issue, and I think it's still not solved.
I had complained several times and provided documentation - at no (visible) avail.
Lightning events were very strangely and - in my opinion - not correctly/consistently reported in the history (min/max)
But as I live in an area where lightnings are the exception, the issue has gone to the background.
I will try to create a fake lightning event again and see what it gives.
How to create a fake event ? I put the flash of my camera in front of the sensor and make it flash.
I managed to create a fake event - and the sensor appears - the recording is still somewhat strange in the min/max (the labeling has improved though) - how can a recorded event have a count of 0 ???
.
And there's no difference in my MB Pro or in my RPi4 installation.

Yeah, I'm the same. I try for awhile to solve it but nothing. After awhile I'll put it on the back burner hoping to come back to it later.
Re: template metachart for detect lighnings Ecowitt WH57 / Froggit DP60
Boris sticks to a weird translation from Chinese (made by Chinese people) in the GW1000 API which says "energy" which is very misleading.
(Not only) I kept on telling him to get a proper name for that, it's the time stamp of the last strike
the three API fields are:
lightning_distance distance to last lightning strike
lightning_last_det_time Epoch timestamp of last lightning strike
lightning_strike_count cumulative lightning strike count
right now, even though there is a lightning event for today, I do not see it in my database.
There's no sensor to be selected.
I checked in the database (with a database tool from my backups).
The tables are there, but none contains a timestamp of today ....
Last entry is from last year September, for each of the three in all -hour, -day, -month, -year, -all tables.
As there are no minute data but only hourly data for this sensor, maybe it is still hidden in the RAM database and will show up in the persistent database after two days ...
This is still a corner of ongoing roadworks for the lightning sensor.

I created the metachart file, but it is still to be perfected. If anyone can beta test me and try it out I would be grateful.

I am using the Rpi version and do not see a data-directory. I am assuming this is for nano? I am also assuming you are ssh-ing into meteobridge?

Re: template metachart for detect lighnings Ecowitt WH57 / Froggit DP60
If you have a pc with windows and enable file sharing on the meteobridge, you should see a "meteobridge" pc on the network, opening it with windows you have the path you are interested in
Re: template metachart for detect lighnings Ecowitt WH57 / Froggit DP60
If you have more than one Meteobridge in your network (e.g. a MB Pro and a MB/RPi or any other combination) only one Samba share called Meteobridge will appear in Windows under Network - the other one can only be seen by entering the IP in the Explorer path "window", entry field, e.g. \\192.168.1.80 (assuming 192.168.1.80 were the MB server's IP address) and hit enter - then the directory tree will be displayed.Andyk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 8:07 pmmeteofabro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 6:58 pmI created the metachart file, but it is still to be perfected. I have such a situation and have therefore created text files with the IP address name e.g.192-168-1-80.txt in the ./data/scripts directory (could be any other directory) in order to know who is who in case the other snatches the share name. In case of reboots etc. the other could snatch it, or in case of a WIndows reboot ...
As long as you have to work in the ./data directory or one of its sub-directories, you can do everything from Windows File Explorer.
No SSH access needed. Only if you need to access other areas, SSH access (e.g. via PuTTY) is needed.
The shared folder/directory named "data" you see in Windows is mounted to /tmp/mnt inside Meteobridge (in the openWRT file system).

Hi
your script/template can only be tested if there are available lightning recordings.
The issue is that they are no longer saved in the database (at least not in two of my MB Pros) since last year September.
Some bug that is still not attended by Boris as he claims to have other priorities. As I didn't have many lightning events since then, it didn't hurt much that it's not (yet) working. But I keep on bugging him for getting it higher up his priority list.
There's another post of mine regarding lightning where the issue(s) are described in another post of you.

I provided all necessary (and available) information to fix the bug.
Now the ball is in Boris' court.

Don't know if its just me or not. In the Ambient Meteobridge the lighting sensor is no longer supported. (Meteobridge 5.1 (Jan 30 2021, build 14306), FW 1.4 )
Don't see anyway to add it back either in the settings. Would like it added back!

if available, you have to wait for an event to wake up.
