Setup problems; Connection refused

Hi all!

A platform switch due to a thunder lightening in my old one. Now trying to setup a Raspberry Pi. I tried to write the image to the SD Card som many times now that I´ve lost count of all the tryouts...... I'm getting the same result all the time. "error connect socket 127.0.0.1:5555 :Connection refused. Warning: Data logging has been halted." In my system log I find several bad messages, such as
"cat: /data/weather/20*/raw: No such file or directory
expr: division by zero
wswincut (01.01.1970 01:17:01): Error file open /data/export/EXP01_00.csv: No such file or directory
wdcut (01.01.1970 01:17:01): Error file open /data/export/wd_export.csv: No such file or directory

I have tried three different image writing tools, two different downloads of the image. Been restoring the card in all possible ways before writing to it. Sometimes the sensors is shown but not allways. If so, and the tiniest litte bit I do, it all goes back to "error connect socket 127...." blablabla again.

Someone out there that have the same experience? And wants to help me out?
The weather station is a WM200 if that matters.

can you login via ssh and tell what "df -h" reports?
Looks like data partition has not been setup.
Strange thing is that we have quite a few RPI users and none reported issues like that.

How did you setup the SD card? Which tool? How did you parametrize?
What is the size of your SD card?

As said, I've tried a lot

Win32Diskimager
Easeus Partition Master 10
ImageUSB
SDformatter v4
Suse Studio Image writer
DiskImage (roadKil´s)
Diskpart (Internal Win disk mgmt prg)

Even if I did something wrong the first time, I belive there must be a way to restore the card. (or "?")

As I wrote, I even suspected there was an error in the first download of the image, so I downloaded it again.

The SD card is brand new (or was last friday), is a Sandisk class4 16Gb. All is recognised and shown in the "system" page.
The sensors seems to appear after a while, but when i assign them the same error comes back.

Did you already try another card?

Even a new first class brand card can be faulty. Or be a cheap counterfeit. I had that with USB sticks which where a few mb and sold as 2GB.

Just try another card from another brand to be sure.

Back with a brand new Transcend class 10 16Gb SD Card. Directly from the box, into the SD Card reader. Windows 7(64), running as administrator and run the programs as administrator, trying DiskImage(Roadkil´s) and the recommended ImageWriter. No access rights to the card in either of them. (It finds and recognizes the card immidiatly)

Can anyone PLEASE help me out? Don´t want to waste this card too.....
(And... No, I don't have access to a Linux computer......)

What do you mean with "no access rights"? Using a normal PC you should see the card on the desktop and open it and put a simple file on it. so even before you use DiskImage or the like, you should be able to access the disk and put something on it.

If that is not the case, the card is write protect. That is a small slider at the side of the card which is in the wrong position.

If not PLEASE use another computer (mac or windows) because it is impossible that two different brand SD cards will fail.

Then the sd slot or the usb n the computer you are using is defect. Or the computer can not access lardge SD cards.

Thanks for your effort to help me!
I have checked the tab, both one the cards thats in the RPi now and on the new SD Card.

When trying to write in a Win7(64) desktop, I got these messages:



Moving the card over to a Win8(64) desktop, I can see that the first one did a partition of about 50Mb Before it stopped. The "ImageWriter" application did not find the SD card as you can see.....



I'm not that new to the system, I've been running a licenced copy since september 2009, but maybe its been running too good, hav'nt experienced anything like this before.
In the setup guide for RPi it looked simple to setup such a card without any initializon, but now I don't know. Is there anything I can do to recover the card Before my next attempt?
(I have looked into the "Error 5" thing in https://answers.launchpad.net/win32-ima ... ion/205161 but thats not been takeing me further.

So thankful if you can give any clues what to do......

After running windows diskpart (in commandline) with entering "Clean" several times, the card was accessible via DiskImage. Wrote the image to it, loaded it into the RPi but only to see the same result as Before:
