Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
Super - runs very much OK now !
Some smaller problems I found:
1.
LED blink for IP indication runs as text "usr/sbin/led" on SSH terminal instead of blinking the LEDs.
Solution: kill the already existing link ~led in dir /usr/sbin, then from next boot on it blinks OK
2.
During boot there shows a problem in registering the data for wear (I suppose, of course).
Solution: replace ARM6-check in wear.sh with ARM7-check.
3.
Dir var/spool/exim4/input gets every minute a new entry from histeval0.
Solution: In histeval0 replace "METEOHUBHW" == "NSLU2" with "METEOHUBHW" = "NSLU2".
(Image already had nearly 200 entries from your test run...)
4.
Mail system does not work any more. Sending a test mail produces exim4-errors.
Solution: keine Ahnung...
PI2 runs so much quicker and computes faster than the older ones, it's much fun now.
And Micro SD card is now much better fixed in its slot, with no protruding card anymore which was prone to touch problems.
Only lifetime will be the problem - would it not be a possibility to have the data partition on an USB stick, for safety ??

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
Thanks for the heads-up. I will fix those minor glitches during the next days and will release an update then shortly.
- temp will be fixed
- SD card wear will be fixed
- SD card details will be fixed
- bogomips display will be fixed
- led will be fixed
Mail will need a bit more deep diving...
Anything else?

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
After 2 image-crash with my Pi B+, i started yesterday evening with a new Pi2, new SD-Card (Kingston Class 10) and a new power-supply. I shutdown my meteohub today and wanted to make an image of the SD-Card with HDCLONE. I got a lot of read-errors. I tried Win32DiskImager and got a CRC read error.
I'm not very happy with the stability of meteohub on Raspberry Pi. I run other Raspberry Pi without this issue.
Any idea to improve the stability ?
Regards
Matthias

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
Meteohub does nothing special. My RPIs are even rather tolerant when I disconnect them from
power without a proper shut down. What does kill the file system is when you remove the
card during operation. May be you tear them out to early when doing a shut down?
When the card istself is showing crc errors on block level, then I have no idea what to
do apart from replacing the card and my be changing the brand. May be timing is not
good with this brand? Just guessing. Transcend class 10 does fine with me so far.

That's a bit harsh to meteohub. Nothing to do with meteohub. It's all down to the card in that case in my opinionManhart wrote:

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
Works perfectly, but once registered, would like to fully test;-)
Only have a luxury problem, and that's when I told him of the power take-away, I must first remove the tempering HID USB sensor before I turn the power on, otherwise it will not start up.
For the rest it is a lot faster as the ALIX3D2 I have.
Works really really fast.
On Meteohub will indeed not lie.
Look forward to the next update and if everything works well, I will switch to the raspberry and ALIX3D2 backup system next leave voorals something goes wrong.
Use Raspberry PI 2 with Meteohub and Sandisk 32GB clas 10.

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
Regarding updates go through this just maintenace in Meteohub or should happen again a fresh install.
I suppose it via menu update goes into Meteohub itself.
With regards.

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
I will make a fresh SD card install, as I have to fix quite a few things to get emailing
with TLS right. It will need a new smtp client (msmtp instead of esmtp). Will take a few
days...

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
Thanks for the info but I get no problems with a fresh install with regard to code and registration code Meteohub?

Re: Raspberry pi B+ 2
Looks like I managed to have the email fix for RPI (and also for the x86 platform) in a regular update,
no need for fresh install.
