The European Environment Agency of the European Union (EU) has developed the Common Air Quality Index (or CAQI).
The CAQI is a number on a scale from 1 to 100, where a low value means good air quality and a high value means poor air quality.
The index is divided into five CAQI ranges and verbal descriptions: Very Low, Low, Medium, High and Very High.

The CAQI is based on a large amount of pollutant data that can easily be converted into an index that is easy to communicate to the general public. The main objective of the CAQI was to have an index that would promote broad comparison across the EU and draw public attention to urban air pollution and help reduce exposure.

The index is based on an average PM 2.5 concentration of one hour.
I have a question regarding the air quality sensors:
Would it be possible to install an option that allows to show the whole thing according to the EU standard Common Air Quality Index (or CAQI) (see note) ???

NOPE :-) had this discussion before not going to get involved in multiple standards reference to AIR QUALITY ..sorry ..
please don’t misunderstand its a reasonable request but introduction of more options, more standards is not on the agenda i really want to focus on something else other than air quality standards lets come back to this in the far future and finish off what im working on now..

That is a pity, but also understandable...
I only thought so because the topic of particulate matter is especially influenced by various national standards. Would be interesting especially in Europe since everyone is talking about it again and again....
But I can live with it and maybe you will find a possibility at a later time .....

All in all, I have to give them an absolute compliment... madness what they have created...
The whole enriches my weather homepage around a multiple...

Many thanks :D :D :D

as above. its a reasonable request not at the moment lets look at in the future not now too much emphasis on air quality at present just not allowing to get other things done that are overdue.. patience is a virtue all good things come to those that wait..

ps pwsdashboard i designed originally it was me who kindly gave him the design platform to build upon , if your an ecowitt users i highly and strongly recommend you use his version not this version as this version was never and and will not be designed or developed for ecowitt hardware in mind , i have enough to get on with without that headache..yes it was big hint with a big smile as i do not want the large headache ..

no need to compare or judge versions makes no odds to me i simply have no preference what matters is that the end user has something they can use to suit there needs ..

THIS TEMPLATE DOES NOT OFFER OR GUARANTEE ANY SUPPORT FOR ECOWITT DEVICES ..

the use of air0!0pm in this template was built around DAVIS AIRLINK not ECOWITT therefore it will not be adapted for ECOWITT hardware.you are free to adapt your own hardware to use but during each update your adaption will be overwritten so always keep a copy of your adaption or modification safe so you can revert back to your changes..

Evening update ..last Im doing with air quality for a few weeks need to digest some ideas forwarded ,
I would like to next focus on IFTTT which I began in August to use with Apple Watch and similar supported devices. Things like lightning , high temps, high winds, low temps , rain start etc will all be useable and option set with preferred intervals I currently have mine triggering if lightning , if high winds of > 60kmh at 10 minute interval notifications . its very similar to setting up an email alert..

update simply aligns all air quality modules to a similar layout best I could with support for multiple languages.

(*Evening Update for 19th October 18:06))
* Adapts all air quality modules to translations and identical layouts
* Fix incorrect sunrise/set phrase in moon sun module Ref Richard(atlantic21)
* Adds translations capability to air quality pop up screens Ref Mike(xray77)
* Fixes duplicate script meteobridge air quality module Ref Mike(xray77)
* Fix for non metric max dewpoint if below freezing ref Robert (Fairbanks Alaska)
* Adds Purple Air/Davis/Luftdaten Air Quality new chart view for today
* Catalan/Spanish language update ref Josep
* German language update ref Mike(xray77)
* Danish language update ref Bjarne Riis

this has been sitting on the sideline for some time due to spending too much time recently on AIR Quality so finally got around to finishing it .. simply the daylight strip changes color shade intensity from a dark yellow through to red based on LUX value . there is also a fallback which will just show the orange shade if no LUX value(no solar sensor hardware is in use).also rework the css for these modules (sun /moon related).

(*Afternoon Update for 20th October 15:33)
* Adds daylight color change based on LUX intensity with fallback for those without LUX capability(solar sensor)
* Cleans up all unused code accumulated when compiling code for air quality

Hi Brian,

Thanks for all the recent updates. I just setup the Airlink for indoor readings and it is working fine. I did notice that a graphic image was missing for the Davis Pop up module (Airlink34.svg). It may be in the Update file, but not on Github. I grabbed it from your site.

thanks chuck that would explain I was helping someone yesterday with a new install and couldn't see the airlink svg in the setup screen that would explain it as the master download is a replica of GITHUB.(just pushed to GITHUB)

also thats the last update for a while I think just booked a flight to go to our second home as the cases have spiraled upwards and somewhat out of control here in istanbul last week or so and its basically in our neighborhood now as previous months and peak we had nothing in our area but sadly not the case its on my doorstep literally. so all im taking as usual is an iPad and phone.. crap times ahead as always happy to help if I can ..Brian

Brian,

One question. What is actually turned on when YES is selected for the Davis Airlink, in the template settings? I seemed to be able to detect the data even when this was set to No.

Take care,

this will govern how the davis air quality charts for day , month, year is used . eventually davis air quality will have a dedicated link to a popup like now and an optional dedicated chart page with current day, month, year combined with also almanac data specifically for davis airlink.
the yes or no simply will be a simple if davisairlink== yes do this i.e store chart data, display almanac , if davisairlink==no do nothing as user wont need to run those scripts to collect data.. the chart side is done just needs me too ween out redundant strings in the API that are left over from the original 2017 structure so i can add on airlink almanac data with times etc..
that said once done will completely break original 2017 -2018 version MBSMART.. unfortunately there are still many users who prefer that but there is a way round that for them by using the old method which is prone to end user input error which is better than nothing ..pending on current situation think all this wont happen anytime soon which allows time to get it right from the offset ..

simple update now definitely last for a few weeks .

@xray77 mike I don't have time at present to dive into luftdaten issue you raised in PM, sadly I do not use luftdaten api so its always a learning curve for me, I always relied on Piet in the past to resolve and correct code but im not always seeing the PM2.5 in the same API position especially when a particular user does NOT have pm2.5 only pm 10.. so all I can suggest is zip up your modifications and send them along sometime I will try to understand whilst it may be simple for you but for me no idea to be honest you may have to be very basic in your explanations with pictures :-) for me to get it..

(*Afternoon Update for 21st October 12:01
* Catalan/Spanish languages updated ref Josep
* Aligns all sun related modules to same css code
* Adds language support to all sun related modules
* Minor fix for Luftdated chart Ref Josep * Adds daylight color change based on LUX intensity with fallback for those without LUX capability(solar sensor)
* Cleans up all unused code accumulated when compiling code for air quality.
