Meteobridge PRO cannot connect to Server via SFTP

Post by admin »

Some recent SSH daemon implementations reduced the number of supported key exchange methods in a way that locks out the dropbear client Meteobridge PRO uses for SFTP. When you see messages like below in your server logs, you are impacted by this problem.

Code: Select all

no matching key exchange method found. Their offer: diffie-hellman-group1-sha1,diffie-hellman-group14-sha1
Easiest way to fix is to tell your SSH daemon on your server to still allow for the older key exchange methods. On Ubuntu you can do that by adding a file named "meteobridge.conf" in the folder "/etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/". This file should have this content:

Code: Select all

KexAlgorithms curve25519-sha256,curve25519-sha256@libssh.org,ecdh-sha2-nistp256,ecdh-sha2-nistp384,ecdh-sha2-nistp521,diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256,diffie-hellman-group16-sha512,diffie-hellman-group18-sha512,diffie-hellman-group14-sha256,diffie-hellman-group14-sha1,diffie-hellman-group1-sha1
Please don't forget to restart or reload the SSH daemon after having added the config file.
