I think the "alternative" display give a very clear picture of the "now" without the clutter of the "past". It can be read right across the room. Can we call this the "Concise" dashboard?

The temptation to add more data points to it only moves it back towards the detailed dashboard with the plethora of data options presented there.

On the concise+ mock-up with the max, min, averages, you need to be up-close to the screen to read them which kind of defeats the large-print effect of the concise dashboard. The click to drill-down is perfect for the concise dashboard or a user can go to the detailed display as needed.

Perhaps, there could be a console-setup switch to choose the default view (detailed or concise) as the website owner prefers? Then the bottom menu would link to "concise dashboard" or "detailed dashboard" as appropriate.

One minor thing on the Concise Dashboard: For row-1: Temp/Humid/Dewpt and row-2: Wind/Dir/Gust the units are immediately next to the values. On row-3: Rain/Baro/UV there is a gap. This visible on https://weather34.com/weather34-tablet.php. I have taken out a few carriage returns on mine and this fixes the problem: https://jmfweather.uk/weather34-tablet.php

Can these gaps on row-3 be removed by default please?

Ps. Rain needs only one decimal place when using metric as Davis rain spoon tips are only 0.2mm. Only using inches do we require two decimal places.

thank you all done will be in the next update tomorrow if nothing else arises :-)

also in the next update there will be an experimental file not tied into anything, if you simply type weather34-os-tablet.php
this simply interacts with automatic theme switching based on the/your operating system supporting dark mode/light mode or if your operating system supports automatic switch to dark mode at sunset which I use on all devices.this file simply interacts based on device/computer supporting this feature .

macOS Mojave, macOS Mojave, macOS Catalina, macOS Monterey
Microsoft Windows 10
Android 9.0 Pie
iOS 13 and later

so your not tied to it its purely there if your OS Computer or Device supports it and I will work it into being a setup option if you wish to use .

screenshots note no theme switching button its all automatic..

to break the OS theme down to understand how it works . your OS must support switching of dark/light mode be it manual or automatic see screenshots of Mac OS Big Sur and iPad/iPhone IOS 14.x options .the OS theme option simply interacts with this automatically, option will only appear if option in setup screen for template is set to YES , if set to NO then it will never appear .

hope that answers the emails for others .in short it is really simple if your OS don't support the function don't select YES select NO .
If you select YES it will show light appearance or dark appearance according to your OS device or based on computer setting .
for example I use light mode until sunset it then automatically switches to dark mode without any interaction :-) .

have a good day Brian..remember its purely an optional feature ..

      Hi Brian,

I have been traveling and “out of the loop”. For me, the more minimal the better. We still have the main version for detail info.

I have not had the chance to update - hopefully soon.

      Take care,

      Chuck

thats good to know unfortunately i own nothing android or windows so pure luck that it works and i can offer NO support or solutions for android ,windows issues..

@chuck out of the loop , for us its out of the heat after almost two weeks of unbearable heat and night humidity of 90% or more :(

reference to those enquiring about apple watch , ive no idea how to really do something and the knowledge todo something is not something i have, i bought a apple watch 3 late 2017 its been superseded numerous times and keeping up with apple watch releases I simply cant justify the cost as we have no trade in,upgrade retail capability here apart from buying a brand new one each time and dumping the older one in the draw .the apple watch 3 i own suits my requirements and ill just stick with that as long its communicates with my iphone . so in short answer is NO unfortunately but who knows :D

      have a good day..

Does anyone know what could be the reason why my MB NanoSD suddenly shows an anomaly in the reporting? In the screenshots you can see that it starts after 15:10, after that, it is reported at strange times but about every 10 min. And then stopped at about 8pm. To go back to normal around 3 am. It seems like the clock is starting to go wrong. Couple of. site reporting "off-line" and on another it is indeed clear that the clock is running behind. I didn't have time to restart the MB when it turned out that it was difficult to access via Wifi. But I could see (on my router and a network scanner, hardware thing) that the MB remained on-line, even after the day change when the report already had stopped and I came home and discovered it.

      good morning

only answer I can give you "Template only displays, records what is sent from Meteobridge itself at any given time", template does not control what is sent from Meteobridge and it doesn't control the timestamps it literally reads, records to file what is sent at that given time so the timestamps reflect that.

don't have an answer but its that case of look locally . ps template has a purpose of highlighting localized anomalies it will basically show discrepancies if that's been sent . template only reads and writes what is sent to it !!! .

fwiw if I have a power outage district wide this basically kills the internet has the main network distribution outlet in the area is shut down so what I see is that the daily charts have gone out of the 10 minute sequences because Meteobridge can't obviously reach my domain , I used to have a back 3g dongle for this scenario but my wife uses it for work purposes when she travels.

anyway look locally could be a one off occurrence ..have a good day..

I am aware that the template is only a mirror of what is presented to that mirror. But I thought maybe someone has experienced something like this. A network problem crossed my mind. I also want to do something about it. A scenario to fall back on. But now I could see the MB was online. And it doesn't explain the weird reporting times either. Maybe on the MB forum. Thanks Brian and have a good day too!

hello it can be a multiple of things , one scenario i often see with end users is multiple simultaneous services running , i mean some end users run everything to every possible service wether they use em or not . this can cause issues as the meteobridge device itself resources get stretched to max or simply not enough resources to process all the services simultaneously. just a scenario ive seen , meteobridge is rich in features but its far from being a powerhouse cpu driven hardware it has its limitations and once you understand that you can fine tune the device for optimal performance. fwiw i dont upload to any services just my website and local server when i need it for development. anyway hope it throws some light if not as you say start a new post thread but beware of the new kid on the block rhetorics who i’ll refrain from naming :D :D ..have a good day bart
