Happy New Year!

Okay, I figured out the first question. I had incorrectly setup the MeteoBridge cron job. I would still like advice on uploading historical data for charts.

Code: Select all

I am a recent convert to MeteoBridge and Weather34, but my station is about seven years old now. I have successfully installed Weather34 Aurora and it updates local data properly: https://bollar.org/wx/weather34/index.php but anything json doesn't appear to update. I have entered my PurpleAir, WXCheck and WeatherUnderground ID and API keys and none of them are updating. Looking in the jsondata directory, the files have timestamps from mid-December and are what is displaying on the template. If I delete the files, the state data is just deleted from the template. The data that is not updated are:

 - PurpleAir from Prestwick WX, Myrtle Beach, SC
 - METAR from LTBA (and an earlier installation was WSSL now offline, but you can see it here: https://bollar.org/wx/oldweather34/index.php )
 - WU data from someplace other than my location.

I do have MeteoBridge set to run https://bollar.org/wx/weather34/mbdbfiles/stationcron.php every 30 minutes.

Permissions are files 664 / directory 755.

Thanks for your help!
Also, while I'm here, I assume I can upload historic information for the charts / almanac. Can anyone point me to documentation? It looks like it's easy enough to upload a csv to weather34charts, but want to save time guessing.

For those of you who want to upload historical data to Weather34 Aurora from MeteoBridge, I made this template. The data seem to match the existing Weather34 history files, with the exception of the PurpleAir & Davis air quality. I used 2.5 daily max for each sensor, which is closest to what Weather34 stored.

The resulting file is saved in weather34charts as YYYY.csv (2020.csv)

There may be a bug in MeteoBridge -- if I put [MMM} in a template, it's not decoded into the three-letter month. I changed to {MM} and converted the two-digit month into a three-letter month using search & replace.

Code: Select all

# MeteoBridge: export to feed Weather34 History
#
#pragma append=n
#pragma emptylines=n
[DD] [MMM],[th0temp-max=C.1:0],[th0temp-min=C.1:0],[th0dew-max=C.1:0],[th0dew-min=C.1:0],[rain0total-daysum=mm.1:0],[wind0wind-max.1:0],[wind0wind-avg.1:0],[wind0dir-avg.0:0],[thb0seapress-max=hPa.1:0],[thb0seapress-min=hPa.1:0],[uv0index-max.1:0],[sol0rad-max.0:0],[air1!1pm-max.2:0],[air1!1pm-max.1:0]
Unfortunately, I didn't upload UV, Solar and air quality info when I switched to Meteobridge, so I'll have to do without that.

Thank you for the prompt reply! I sorted out my configuration problem on the Meteobridge side, and that fixed the METAR and PurpleAir problem.

I also got 2020.csv uploaded with the template above and the charts work. All of my older data is outside Meteobridge in various CSV files -- not a problem to parse into the right file format, so long as I understand it.

I'm now looking at the almanac. From where is that data retrieved? I have an (incorrect) all-time max reported from 2019, but I haven't entered any data from 2019 or earlier that I'm aware of.

awesome makes my day when end users resolve it means there is some form of understanding of how it works ..almanac data values is stored in meteobridge itself the history tab allows you to edit data.

only discrepancy i see is a blank module what have chosen for that ? note purple air is not supported in template via meteobridge only supports davis airlink though in theory if you assign(map) purple air to the same as you would with davis airlink then the davis air quality module would work off purple air.

have a good evening...

Ah. That encouraged me to get all of my old history into Meteobridge. "Fun" project.

I do have both Davis & Purple sensors and worked out how to display what I want. A couple of things I noticed:

A small bug. It's simultaneously cold and hot here today. It's an Imperial mesurement thing. Doesn't appear with ISO.

Also, I do like having the webcam on the index/home page. Unfortunately, that leaves a blank spot on the almanac that might be able to used a different way in the future? You can see this on my site -- cam is position 9. https://bollar.org/wx/weather34/weather34-almanac.php

Aurora MKII 02-01-2021 update adds additional chart to extra info screens in MKII version.just run simple update thats it..
these additional features are not available in MK1 version .

also the almanac screen will contain more data towards the end of month , but caution the extra almanac data will not work with meteobridge TP-LINK type devices . so this needs some thought on how to smoothly implement . please be patient it will come just needs focus .

Hi, Brian! Still, as in the attached picture, after installing the last update, nothing has changed. The last entry at the end of the year on the top left trend is " nan"

Hi Graham your site always has a fixed css cache issue Ive noticed this for many months . it often takes an hour or two to recognize new CSS thats one of the reason I dont use your site to check for issues . I cant confirm if its a cache server level setting or it just doesn't immediately react to file changes . I did raise this to you many months ago when I had FTP access it often sent me round in circles unfortunately only to find there was a server cache or similar in use perhaps a hard setting in the .htaccess file .

if place your current day chart csv http://ringwoodweather.ddns.net/Aurora2 ... an2021.csv into my local demo

I get this in screenshot below .. I hope that helps somewhat..

edit.. I can confirm you are NOT reflecting new CSS dark file as I type has there is a new set of lines not present that begin with @media screen and (max-width: 760px) {
which was only added this morning and wasn't present in any previous releases.

you can see here at the time writing there is nothing related to @media screen and (max-width: 760px) {

Hello Richard thank you be patient with me ...everything will fall into place plus new additional stuff on the horizon for Pro/NANOSD users .
this MKII I wasn't expecting that much interest to be honest but 434 downloads in just over 2 weeks it has proven to be an interesting alternative.
Hopefully Ive eradicated the teething issues now I can add the additional stuff .

whenever I look at your site its raining think you had more rain in the last year than we had for the last 3 years .. when you see lakes disappearing you can get idea how much lack of rain we actually had last 3 years..

have a good day.

Brian
