Hi Brian
Ok Thanks Ill have another look into this
As you know my site is hosted on a raspberry pi but I dont see this issue on the PWS weather site which is hosted on the same local machine
I will investigate further
Regards
Graham
the css file
http://ringwoodweather.ddns.net/Aurora2 ... 1609669330 is not the current one to recognize the changes in the info screens . I raised this to you before many months ago its NOT something new Ive seen at your site sometimes after a few hours everything miraculously appears correct.

Hi Brian
To be honest I appreciate any input
I realise that my web hosting is somewhat different to most peoples and I am still trying to find out why I am getting these problems
I have NGINX installed as my web server so I would think there are some configuration issues
I will google today and see if I can solve them
Regards
Graham

as above I raised this to long ago but follow these two and draw a comparison there in your UK timezone and follow regular updates.

then Richard where its always raining
https://www.ilfracombeweather.net/console/index.php
my inkling check server config possibly a htaccess file with strict settings ..only a guess but a popular place to start but be careful its a powerful file that
can break things if misunderstood .
sometimes updates are just minor code additions but enough to break things if not implemented .I would grab the latest update and run it again I see an anomaly in the uvindex info screen.. hope you get it sorted ..Brian

Hi Brian
Its probably me and my ATC background but wind bearing figures always have three digits so 70 would always be 070
Just a thought

feel free to implement but watch the compass break and any other bearing data . compass point rotates based on 0-360 degree values throwing something like 070 , 090 , 045 into the equation would permanently put the compass points at 0 north ..somethings are done for a reason you could well be totally right and i dont disagree but im not going to rewrite compass when it does as expected or how 99.999% expect it . in my mind 070 as opposed to 70 would just baffle non enthusiasts .. its like changing all the humidity trend readings to points as opposed to percentages, points is perfectly correct and used by a minority of meteorology tv personalities in the USA but percentage is more widely accepted.
graham i get requests everyday most end users apply there own preferences by modifications so feel to do things as per your preference . today i have had request for black numbers on color backgrounds , cloudbase should change according to metric but i dont see that as valid in reality (i goto doctors in UK for a medical they measure my height in feet , i goto doctors for medical here in turkey they measure my height in meters so in theory the height as nothing todo with celsius or Fahrenheit we use celsius so do UK it just plays a part of the formula so end user chooses the output to their preference) add option for rain cm , use meters for wind run thats just today.. end of the day the code is not complicated as its just based on basic php and css and common relative names have been used widely to help identify areas and specific code i.e $weather[‘cloudbasetemp’] simply is cloudbase temp . time to get your hands dirty break a few things and learn along the way most importantly you can backup and have a master to hand in the event it goes pete tong.. who knows others may well benefit.. have a great evening

Hi, Brian! Still, as in the attached picture, after installing the last update, nothing has changed. The last entry at the end of the year on the top left trend is " nan"
Alex
sorry for the delay just fixed just now in update both versions .
* Fix for last year 2020 temperature chart ref Alex (7:47pm).
* Adds new css for forthcoming almanac extras (1:50pm).
* Aligns all extra info screens in all devices (1:00pm).
* Aligns all extra info screens in popular browsers (1:00pm).
* Please always do a backup before running update

It is a ubiquiti aircam, I managed to pick up two off fleabay (unused) for 70 quid.
It works very well connected to the meteobridge as it takes a still then, meteobridge uploads it to your site...
However...
As I tried to explain to Brian ( between bites of my pie ), there are very few directions I can point it in that won’t end up with it showing neighbours houses ( and windows), and I’m not keen on the plods coming round to moan about it.
I therefore have had to point it slightly uphill, so there is a lot of Sky, and due to the relatively poor sensor of what is in effect old tech the pictures were next to useless. I therefore experimented with moving pictures and personally thought it looked better.
If you look here...
https://camsecure.uk/httpswebcam/whaley ... ather.html
You can see what it looks like .
Brian’s template does crop the picture and he has said he’ll help me sort it out.
Because of that I have ordered a different new camera with a far better sensor and lens , so when that arrives ( hopefully later this week), I can improve on it ...and try and sell the other two on fleabay !

Graham,
To change the very centre of
directionmod.php where you see this:
Code: Select all
<div class="windvalue1" id="windvalue"><?php echo $weather["wind_direction"],"°";?></div></div>
Change it to this:
Code: Select all
<div class="windvalue1" id="windvalue">
<?php if ($weather["wind_direcction"] < 100) { echo "0",$weather["wind_direction"],"°";}
else {echo $weather["wind_direction"],"°";}
?></div></div>
If you want it to apply to all the possible text fields, such as the average 10"
$weather['wind_direction_avg'], average today
$weather['wind_direction_avgday'], average January
$weather['wind_direction_avgmonth'], then you'll need to apply the similar code modifications to those sections in
directionmod.php as well.
This will be your personal choice to modify the code and you'll have to remember that you made this change and re-apply it if Brian updates
directionmod.php in the future. #alwaystakebackups.
As ex-Met Office outstation observer, and one who made weather reports to ATC, I completely agree with the 0-padding.
