Hi Josep

sorry about that fortunately or not so for us Sundays are still full lockdown here until July 1st then hopefully life returns to some form of normality 7 days a week .So once again took advantage of the No life outside to clean up a few areas of the css file.

Also after some long thought idea of paid version will be around $5 not $29 and $2 renewable annually .My motive is not to make money or profit, this is simply based on the rate of downloads of update and master download if 10% of those pay a $5 dollar one off fee covers the cost of the new chart library license fee . So please don't see my motive as to make profit just a simple low cost fee to cover the license fee. Always viewed that not every one has disposable income !!

Download Update 21st June 2021
* Please always do a *backup before running updates
* New Release Aurora MKII (SE)
* (08:00) Forecast Charts contrast adjusted
* (08:00) Menu layout themed
* (08:00) Smart TV layout icons fix Ref Josep
* Please use Meteobridge forum HERE for discussions
* I am not available till 10th July to answer emails in a timely manner.
* Chart background is now a fixed light theme * This is temporary prepares for a new chart library and expect new charts end of July-August
* Update contains all updates since March 1st

below is a very low quality pixelated screen grab of theme switching .

I have a problem.
The "dark" theme always appears automatically even if it is set to "light".

Don't be too much to ask ...

How can I change the color of the charts from light to dark like the forecast ones ???

Now preload.php doesn't change only.

Thanks.

Right now with the update of the 18/19/20th June you cannot. Brian has stated in the release notes that this is a temporary hard-coded background (white) prior to new charting code being deployed. It is temporary. Brian ran out of time before his holiday.

There will, I believe, be the option to switch backgrounds on charts but it will have to wait until Brian returns (somewhere end-June/start-July).

If, like me you don't fancy the white charts on a dark theme then you can restore the various chart files to prior to the update on the 18th June.

Josep it takes time there are many files in main charts , forecast charts were relatively easy as there is only 5 or 6 files but the main charts could be as many as 140 ! top of my head..as Jason mentions not expected anytime soon . but here is as far I got low res screen recording below on my own site.

Good morning Thank you very much for your interest, but doing this changes the subject of the letters without changing anything about them, like the old system.

https://meteosantgenis.org/pws/?theme=light

https://meteosantgenis.org/pws/?theme=dark

Couldn't this be included in the theme change button, easier?

Hello Josep

the old css files will be removed , the new theme switcher has many advantages going forward , please understand I am not going to implement that into existing charts because I am going to use a new chart library that interacts far easier . I don't want to start editing every chart file for something that going to be not used soon.
the benefits of new theme switching methods allows to interact with device settings (this will be optional in the setup screen)
see low resolution screen grab how the theme can interact with device settings or simply can be disabled .

I think your misunderstanding may come from your heavily modified site , my advice is wait till everything is done and then you will see the benefits . At present I have a laptop with me and I don't find it easy going working with code on it , Im used to a large 32" monitor so I can see what is going on easily . So please be patient , the last update was just a quick method for those wanting to have the dark charts .In time all this will simply be switchable by theme button amongst other newer features. Patience is the requirement and as in previous posts late autumn all will be nigh on done , until then I don't think I will publish any more new features until there done and tested .

low resolution screen recording of how it simply is controlled by the desktop/device settings

this will also allows things like prefers-contrast ,prefers-reduced-transparency,prefers-reduced-motion

the prefers-xxxx is a relatively new method supported in CSS it really opens the door to designing websites like application where they can interact with devices, desktops etc if they support or have those features in the OS ..

all it is

@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark) {
:root,
html[data-theme=dark] {
--white: hsl(0, 0%, 96%);
--light: hsl(0, 0%, 96%);
--dark: #0F0F0F;....

@media (prefers-color-scheme: light) {
html[data-theme=light] {
--white: hsl(0, 0%, 96%);
--light: hsl(0, 0%, 96%);
--dark: hsl(0, 0%, 98%);.....

Ok I am sorry ,you will find new charts far easier to maintain , all will come good in time . As before CanvasJs is powerful but complex these type of charts can be done more easier and efficient and really makes life easier to introduce different ideas going forward..
