WeatherCat can't connect to Meteobridge

For a variety of reasons, I needed to restart my TP-Link MR3040 about a week ago and it downloaded the most current Meteobridge firmware. Since that time I have been unable to get WeatherCat software running on my Mac to connect to the TP-Link. WeatherCat says that it can't find anything to connect to. Prior to the Meteobridge firmware update, everything has been working fine since last January, over multiple updates of the firmware.
The TP-Link is sending camera still shots to the Meteobridge server every five minutes and the weather data is being uploaded to Weather Underground every few seconds, so the IP address I have for the TP-Link works. Yet when I enter that known IP address into Weathercat, it returns a "can't find anything" error.
Has anything changed in the Meteobridge firmware to close port 22222 of the TP-Link?
Is there some way I can test to see if port 22222 is open?

The IP address you have to specify in another weather-program (in your case in WeatherCat) is the
IP address of the Meteobridge.
It should be exactly the same address you use in the browser to display the Meteobridge interface.
If you display the Meteobridge blue tabs with 192.168.0.48 in your browser, it is that address you use in WeatherCat.
After a restart of Meteobridge or after a restart of your router, these addresses can change when DHCP is used.
The port is 22222 ( so 5 times a 2).

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I tell WeatherCat to look at the known-working IP address of the TP-LINK device running Meteobridge (also the IP address used to access Meteobridge via web browser). WeatherCat says "No Weather Station Found".
I was wondering if the recent firmware update for Meteobridge had accidentally closed access to port 22222.
Any way I can check access to port 22222 via other software?
Anything else I should be investigating in an attempt to solve this issue?

Does messages section on "System" tab give any hints what goes wrong?

The "Messages" section of the "System Tab" says:
"logger (06.09.2015 13:20:15): [IP Address of computer running WeatherCat]'s request on port 22222 accepted.
logger (06.09.2015 13:20:31): connection on port 22222 closed."
No additional info given.
UPDATE:
Further testing has revealed that Meteobridge log entry "[IP Address] request on port 22222 accepted" is generated upon starting up WeatherCat. After a few seconds, WeatherCat asks what type of weather station and how is it connected. When told the weather station is "WeatherLink IP" and the IP Address is [IP Address], WeatherCat says that it can't see anything.
If I click the "Run" button (i.e. OK, you can't find a weather station but go ahead and run anyway), the Meteobridge log entry is "Connection to port 22222 denied".
Only when I actually quit the non-working WeatherCat is the Meteobridge log entry "connection on port 22222 closed".
I have had WeatherCat connected to the Meteobridge since last January, the first time I tried. Since I literally almost never touch WeatherCat, I know nothing has changed on that end. The "unable to find weather station" error message only appeared two weeks ago after updating the Meteobridge firmware, so I'm still thinking that is the direction to be investigating.

Are you using the USB or IP datalogger from Davis?

My clone data logger is no longer working. Have ordered a replacement,
but can't analyze your problem before having the new logger.

Hi,
You might try using Wireshark (free download) to trace the ip packets going back and gain some insight.
Steve
ps. I'm interested in this because as soon as I can replace my dead usb hub I'm going to want to do the same thing with weatherLink!
