What exactly does this checkbox for "unlinking" the sensors do? When should I use it?

It is useful when you remove or exchange a sensor or replace batteries.

Thanks for getting back to me.
So In my situation here. I only have ONE 3in1 sensor but have restarted it a few times.

does the multiple 3in1 sensors.. i.e. #02349, #06221, #09800, and #15667 correspond to every time I replaced the batteries?

Why would it not pick back up where it left off? Like with the 2 X 5in1 sensors I have... registered as #02659 and #02836?

The RF sensors give themselves a random ID on startup. Therefore, each time these are rebooted (by changing batteries) they show up with a new ID and appear to Meteobridge as a new sensor. Meteobridge cannot decide if it is an added sensor or if it is an old one that just got a new ID by replacing batteries. Therefore, the "unlink sensors" mark allows you to clear all sensor bindings and to have Meteobridge starting over again assigning IDs.

So after having changed batteries, just set the mark and press "save".
