Hi all,
II am experiencing problems withe image upload of our ubiquity cam. The last image upload was hours ago. the rror message is:
Fehler: Meteobridge Weather Cam: Read error (Connection timed out) in headers.
I can see that the cam is working, if I click on it in the management interface of meteobridge.
Since I am able to connect to the MB from remote, the web connectivity should not be the issue. The upload of the weather data to windfinder works fine.
Do yo have any hints for me what to do?
Best,
Fred

WU CAM service is not very stable. To check if it is a Meteobridge related problem you might also upload picture to Meteobridge CAM service. If it is working fine there, it is clearly a WU issue, we can not do much about.

Totally agree with the Admin's comments on WU webcam stability/reliability.
We have been seeing a lot of issues with Wunderground's webcam image uploading over the last 3 weeks. They even took their servers down completely last week in order to attempt an update to patch this problem, but there appears to be lingering issues with some PWS accounts.
We have been sending webcam data to WU for over 7 years 24/7/365 and webcam upload reliability has always been an issue. There have been long stretches of time where it all works great with no issues, but then out of the blue, you can start to see situations where the cam image does not update on their site even though you are sending fresh data, and that data is being accepted and confirmed by the WU servers. The weather activity calendar for example has never worked right in all the years we have been sending our data to WU. Still see many missing images over the course of pretty much any month you choose going all the way back to 2009.
Other times you might get an upload error from their servers even though the cam images associated with the errors are posting normally to the site.
So... The OP's report doesn't surprise me at all, and is in many ways business as usual when it comes to webcam uploads to Wunderground.

Newbie here, trying to add weather cam to my 2 yr. old meteobridge. What URL will get me to the image file? I can see the camera stream by simply putting in 10.0.1.xx.
I assume that WU is looking at a specific address/file to get the data. How do I see that?
Of course, both camera "networks" show a pair of green check marks, but nothing shows up at WU, and Meteo.. gives an error message. I want to be certain that the problems are not in my cockpit, before I give up.
Thanks - Gary

you need to get a WU cam account and select weather network WU camera on your Meteobridge.

I have been through that cycle numerous times. I get green checkmarks and ..... nothing.
What are the steps required to deliver data to WU? I filled out the data on the Wunderground Camera form, assuming that is all of the information that is required. Today I noticed some FTP settings on the Services page. I have not found a comprehensive instruction, with examples, that bring it all in one place for the novice. What I have discovered in the last week.
1. On the Weather Station page I enter the IP address of the External Camera. Do I need a port number or anything else?
2. On the Weather Network page, in the Wunderground Camera window, I selected an interval, and provided the WU name of the camera and my user password.
3. On the Services page, FTP section, I filled in the FTP host (
ftp://webcam.wunderground.com), Port = 21, (WU) Username, (WU) Password (again), and left the Test Path blank.
Have I provided enough data? Is it the correct data?
Thank you. -Gary

To double check that CAM data is fine on your Meteobridge, please also upload to "Meteobridge CAM" service.
By that you can check if provided pics are fine. When this works fine and you get green marks for your
"WU CAM" upload, then the problem is on WU side and we cannot do anything.
Some users make use of the alternative mode of WU CAM, where WU CAM loads the picture form a HTTP address. If you do Meteobridge CAM Service, you can give WU the URL so that it can upload from there. By that you don't need the FTP CAM upload to WU at all.
wxforum.net is full of complaints regarding WU CAM services, so please look elsewhere when you are dependent on a reliable CAM service.
