MB Pro RF rainfall - VP2 **solved**

Just flagging this one again as continuing to note a consistent difference between actual rainfall and that recorded by MB Pro (RF/VP2). Rain rate is good but rainfall is down.

Standard MB rainfall direct via IP is all good, it's the RF version not receiving the full rain event.

Same problem here- meteobridge crash early april, last night first rain- rain rate ok but no rain total (2,8 mm).
After reboot and test with some water now - rain-rate ok but no rain total.

That's interesting as my TP-Link TL-MR3020 running Ver2.5 (July 31, 2015 Build 6790) via WLIP are reporting rainfall totals and rain rate ok, having rain total issues with MB Pro via VP2 & RF which is Ver2.8 (April 9, 2016, build 9760)

How can I downgrade? Do you have the meteobridge-tl-3020 .bin - file for that old version?

On System tab, in Maintenance box, Version Control drop box arrow and select "stick to version 2.5" and reboot

I have downgradet now:

Plattform: TP-LINK TL-MR3020 (ohne USB-Hub)
RAM: 29364 kB insgesamt, 4000 kB frei (86% verwendet)
SW-Version: Meteobridge 2.5 (Jul 31 2015, build 6790), FW 1.4
Laufzeit: 0 Stunden, 29 Minuten Sendepuffer: 0 Einträge (0%)

Same result: rain rate ok but no rain total!

I don´t know what I still can do.

No it's not the software version as I configured a MR3020 via WLIP (Davis VP2) and tested this against an MB Pro via RF from the same ISS and rainfall displayed by the MR3020 wasn't to bad, the MB Pro well that is a different story. You have a different station to what I have.

Some comparisons for the following from yesterday

WeatherLink (Vantage Vue & WLIP)
MB (TP-Link MR3020) V2.8 9Apr 9 2016, build 9760) via WLIP from Vue
MB Pro (red) V2.8 (Apr 9 2016, build 9760) via RF from Vue

WLIP MB MBPro Comments
1.0mm 1.0mm 0.2mm Manual feed 5 tips @ 0.2mm bucket over approx. 1 minute (equiv rate ~ 60mm/h)
1.2mm 1.2mm 0.4mm Manual feed 6 tips @ 0.2mm bucket over approx. 1 minute (equiv rate ~ 60mm/h)
3.0mm 3.0mm 3.0mm Actual light rain over several hours registering 0.2 to 0.4mm per 10 minutes

This inconsistency with the MB Pro via RF I have noticed before during tests with high'ish rain rates

Ran another test the day after

WLIP MB MBPro Comments
1.0mm 1.0mm 0.2mm Manual feed 5 tips @ 0.2mm bucket over approx. 1 minute (equiv rate ~ 60mm/h)
1.0mm 1.0mm 1.0mm Manual feed 5 tips @ 0.2mm
1.0mm 1.0mm 1.0mm Manual feed 5 tips @ 0.2mm
2.0mm 2.0mm 0.0mm Manual feed 10 tips @ 0.2mm over approx. 2 minutes

The first run logged the same as the day before (only 1 tip out of 5)
The next 2 runs were as one would expect
The last run the MB Pro failed to register anything at all?
Rather hard to isolate anything with this lot?

Update from April 23 does a fix of rain total computation. Please check again with the new version.

MB 2.8 (Apr 23,2016, build 9797) has appeared to fix this issue, rain totals are now identical to as displayed/recorded values. This was tested for rain rates of 13.4 (0.6mm), 73.4 (1.0mm), 113.0 (1.2mm) and 295.4mm/h (2.0mm)
