Increasing selector sum24h to say sum30h?

Would it be possible to increase the selector sum24h to sum30h or even sum48h without over stressing the process?
Reason? In this country the rainfall reporting period/s are 1) 24 hour period to 9am and 2) the 6 hours to 3pm with 3pm being one of the main daily reporting times. For a single email report at 3pm the 6 hours to 3pm is all good and with something like [rain0total-sum30h]-[rain0total-sum6h] would give the 24 hour rainfall to 9am.
Or is there another way to achieve this?
