antenna extension cable for Meteobridge PRO

We are planning a Meteobridge PRO installation at a remote outdoor location. There is an existing metal control panel at the site and the MB PRO will be installed inside the metal enclosure. The reception of the Davis wireless signal from the Vantage Pro2 sensors won't be so good inside the metal control panel.

Can we use a short (1 meter or less) antenna extension cable to mount the antenna on the outside of the metal enclosure so it can pick up the Davis wireless signal better? If so, what are the correct connectors that we should specify on the cable?

Thanks.

What sort of distance between ISS and MBPro? First I would test the signal/setup using the standard MBPro antenna as simply extending the existing antenna using a bit of coax may suffer more loss than any gain? In a reverse type setup with the ISS in a stainless steel enclosure the MBPro will receive (with standard antenna) at 150 feet inside the house (brick walls).

RF antenna connector is standard SMA
