Latest firmware (Jan 3) is not working with Davis WeatherLink USB:

Tried total console power off and on and multiple Meteobridge reboots.

Now using firmware 3.4 and everything is working fine:

(I have always seen the "Can't open device..." message, but with latest firmware its sticks with that.

Tried rebooting with firmware 3.4 multiple times - all successfully.

Using USB-hub.

Sorry, the 3.5 is for sure working with the Davis USB logger. Tons of user operate this way.

There must be something specific with your setup. Can you give me remote access, please,
so that I can check the root cause of the issues you report.

I can supply remote access. Will send you a email. Thanks.

You a welcome to look into the device at any time if you are just having a look but I would really like to know when you are looking into the device and "doing something" in case of a needed hard reboot or something like that -> the Meteobridge is at a remote location.

First look showed that the used D-Link 7 port hub behaves strange with the openwrt linux drivers. It shows up as two cascaded 5-port hubs with some of the ports bound to USB HID devices. As a result the Davis USB logger is detected by the low level Linux drivers as being connected via two cascaded USB hubs. Cascaded USB hubs are never meant to be supported. Looks like 3.5 is more picky about that.

I recommend to exchange this cumbersome USB hub by a cheap one from Logilink (4-port Logilink Smile can be get for less than 10 Euros in Europe).
