MB restarts when a backup is made **solved**

Post by BeBe » Sun Dec 30, 2018 12:33 pm

Hi,

When I do a backup the Meteobridghe Pro often makes a spontaneous reboot without making a backup. Sometimes the backup works well, both manually and periodically.
I activated the script to do a back-up each new day.

The backup of last night on usb is 504 KB; the backups before are approx 25 Mb.

The problem occurs after the MB has been repaired in November after the MB Pro crashed at a reboot

Re: MB restarts when a backup is made

My MB pro reboots every time it receives a backup command. I activated the backup script on the tab system; every time the MB pro does a reboot and not a backup.

Re: MB restarts when a backup is made

There is no restart, data logging is halted during backup which is needed to avoid data inconsistencies.

Re: MB restarts when a backup is made

Post by BeBe » Wed Mar 06, 2019 10:29 am

Usually a back-up does not work. When I make a backup, after about 1 minute a restart will take place and no backup will be made on usb-stick.
Sometimes a backup succeeds, usually a restart occurs. So it is difficult for me te make a backup!
Am I doing something wrong?

is there enough space on the partition? or perhaps the drive is corrupt?

Yes, there is enough space. I made a new back-up with another usb stick; it went well. After a few minutes I made a back-up again and the MB restarted after about one minute.
De MB was 5 month ago for repair to Boris.
I'm getting a bit desperate from the MB pro :x

No idea what you are doing here. The provided backup script does backup on a USB stick not your Mac Book ;-)

Can you please give me a remote login. From the material you post I can get no insight.

It turned out that doing the low level copy forces a reboot (caused by too low RAM) when database reaches a certain size. This is solved by pathing the backup script to do copying in small chunks. This issue did come a bit as a surprise as it is rather strange behaviour. However, this issue should be solved with latest update.

Thank you.
I did a reboot (twice), but the release did not update and remained: Meteobridge 3.9 (Mar 13 2019, build 12718), FW 1.4.
I made a back=up and the MB did a reboot again. Unfortunately it is not solved yet.

I did a restart and then I got March 17 release. The backup went well after that.
However, after a few minutes a reboot followed ... :(

I was testing and issued a reboot. My test did run fine. I am off now.

OK. I was hoping for that. I assume it is now resolved.
Thanks.
