Where are "stick with...". entries for 3.7 and 3.8? **solved**

Post by doncurtis » Tue Jan 08, 2019 4:38 pm

I am on 'get newest on boot' and at the January 6th build of 3.9 but in the drop down selection it only shows stick with versions 2.0 thru 3.6. No entries to stick with 3.7 or 3.8

Is the above just an oversight or is 3.6 the last "solid" build?

This is a bug of the finalized version 3.8. When you want to get to 3.7 you first need to go to the newest version and can down step to 3.7 from there.

From version 3.9 on going back will be limited to version 3.2.
I don't think anybody needs to step down from 3.9 or later to any of the versions years ago. If needed one can go to 3.2 first and then from there reach the very old versions.

I have the newest version (3.9 dated 6 Jan 2019), I want to stick with 3.8 but neither 3.8 nor 3.7 are available in the version drop down.

I answered above DIR-505L

It obviously runs fine on 3.9. I am guessing that the bug you mentioned in the final 3.8 version carried over into the January 6, 2019 version of 3.9

I am seeing the same thing wvdkuil posted above, same HW too.

Ok, you fixed it in 3.9, January 13th build, and I can go back to 3.8. However, when I do, the "stick with..." goes back to get newest on boot and, of course since the bug exists in 3.8, it doesn't allow me to stay with 3.8

Please fix the final build of 3.8 so I can stay there.

My "free updates" ends on the 31st of this month and I am not sure if 3.9 will be finalized by then... So I would have to go back to 3.6.

Thanks

You can leave settings at "newest" and it will simply limit this to the newest available in your span of update support. So no need to manually restrict this.
