I'm on a wifi that has restricted data transfers per month so need to ensure I keep my usage low. I just recieved a 150$ data bill so am trying to track offender !!!
How much roughly does Wunderground uploads use ?
Can I check how much exactly has been transfered on wifi connection using wundeground or meteobridge ?
Roughly how big are meteobridge software updates ? (I will turn off auto update to save data)
Thanks

Greetings Mogwai,
From 27/1/2019 to 9/2/2019 I have used 88MB of 3G data with EE. I update to Windfinder, Wunderground, Metoffice WOW and WindGuru every 5 minutes. I have updated the Meteobridge software once and accessed my MBP Red via its web access on 6 occasions. So that is less than 7MB per day.

Thanks so much.
Can you clarify....does it download the software each time it starts? How big is the software each time
If so no internet no boot?

One should not have the MB get newest on boot set every time it starts or any other form of automatic update, this is just a waste of bandwidth, updates should be done manually when the update has some specific purpose for you and not just for the sake of being a new build version.
Usage has a lot to do with a variety of things and I have never really been able to put my finger on the cause. Some routers are simply bad at chewing up resources for no apparent reason

Matt gives some excellent advice. I too only update the software manually if there is a problem. For 30 days 11/11/2018 to 10/12/2018 I did not update the software and I did not log in to the web interface. I updated the 4 networks mentioned above every 5 minutes using a usb dongle connected to the EE network. My EE account shows I used 5.3MB/day.
Previously I used a SIM card from 1p Mobile (1p per MB) which is a virtual carrier using the EE network. I used 33MB per day with them. I assume every 5 minutes I was not using a whole MB but their billing charged me 1p for a whole MB.
