Boy am I having a bad year. Any clue what could be causing this?? Started couple of weeks ago. Life has gotten in the way of working to fix. Interference? by what?
I have a Vantage Pro2, RF to MB Pro. Two units are maybe 30 feet apart line of sight through window. All worked fine for over a year with a Signal of around -65db

Nothing has been introduced into the RF mix in the room? Any neighbours running anything new that would interfere? Nothing different with the weather, heat or cold affecting RF through the window? One would tend to think something has changed to start this after a year?

Nothing new I know of. Same-o same-o spare room. Would need to be something that runs 24/7. One neighbor has started using WiFi in the 5 Ghz band. Their signal is around -80db using channel 40, currently off. For about a year I have been using channel 157 in the 5 Ghz band. All which is not close to the 915Mhz for the Davis. No industry (in town) no heavy equipment.
Weather warmer now than in Dec-Jan but colder that last Jul-Aug. I have checked for condensation between the window and storm window, none. I have two MB Pro's both record similar data.
Need to take a look at export templates and look at minute by minute signal to see if I can learn anything.
Just another example of 'Life: What happens while you are making plans.' In this case a remote PWS when I can't keep this one running.

put the vp2 into diagnosis mode and look for dropped packets etc to console , battery ISS ? a case of process of elimination to determine if its mb or ISS ..

weatherist34 thanks for the suggestions. The plan was to use the RF link to go directly from the ISS to the MBPro so don't have a console. At this point a console or Envoy (with SW) is a $200+ troubleshooting tool.
As noted earlier I have used two different MBPro with the same results.
I did receive an Asy Box for the VP2 yesterday. If it will stop raining we will check that. Hope that fixes the problem. If not "fixing" interference may be out of scope.

ok dont give up sometimes you just have to look at all scenarios and possible solutions , if its localized noise or some broadband noise generated by some spurious harmonic from a nearby device there is ways to tackle that but need a lot of trial and error..good luck..hope,you resolve it..brian

Still in need of suggestions to fix my communication between VP2plus and MBPro
- I have replaced the VP2 SIM (Sensor Interface Module)
- Oriented Antennas vertically & horizontally hopping interference may be polarized (keeping VP2 and MBPro antennas parallel)
- Tried changing the transmitter ID code on both
- moved from one window to the other ~4 feet (~1 meter)
Any other ideas? I'm out of options.

Davis Console on the way as a troubleshooting tool.
As an added bonus I will have a way to "play" with a NANO

just curious, have you tried changing channels on the ISS from the default Channel 1 to something else just incase of interference from neighbouring devices?
