Weather Underground authentication failed **solved**

I'm trying to upload my weather data to Wunderground, but I'm having troubles and would appreciate any advice you may have:
1) I created a Wunderground account
2) I added a new PWS and obtained a station id and key
3) I opened my meteobridge web interface and selected the Weather Network tab
4) I entered my new Wunderground station id into the Station ID field
5) I entered the station key into the Password field
Error: Weather Underground: Username/Password Authentication Failed.
6) I tried changing the Password field to my Wunderground login password, and same error.
7) I double checked that I was correctly entering my password, paying attention to case sensitivity, but no luck.
???? What am I doing wrong ?????
BTW: In case it matters, I have a Davis Weather station, a Vantage VUE console and a meteobridge NANO.

It may not be you but Weather Underground? Lots of issues with WU and most appear to be of their own doing.
PS. SO you solved the connection issue to your Nano then? What was the problem?

Make sure that your Station ID is correct. i’s , l’s and 1’s look very similar.
Your wunderground login password goes in the password field.

I didn't solve my NANO issues yet, but I have a temporary workaround (a separate wifi network that bypasses my hardware firewall). I still need to figure out what firewall settings are preventing the NANO from functioning properly. So, all I can say is that it is network related, and not a fault with the NANO.
Thanks for the clarification on what goes into the password field. I'll give Wunderground a few days ... maybe it will straighten itself out.
Thanks again.

This is NOT solved. Not sure why it was marked so.
I still can not connect to Weather Underground from the "Weather Network" tab. I enter the Station ID assigned by Wunderground, and my Wunderground login password and continue to encounter the error: Weather Underground: Username/Password Authentication Failed.

When you bring up the weather network page is the Wunderground Password field already have dots in it indicating it’s already filled in ? . When you first populated the password field with the key ( which is for accessing the data from wunderground using their API ) that password will remain in the password field even if you attempt to enter a new one. The only way to clear the password field is to set the update interval for wunderground to never and save the configuration. Then start over putting in your Station ID and password. See if that will solve your failure to authenticate issue.

Already tried that without any success. Authentication failed.

I just created a new station ID for testing and had the same issues as you. I discovered that you do need to use the key provided by wunderground rather than your password. The older format was your logon password but the new format uses the provided key,
I also discovered that you need to set a 1 minute upload interval. All slower upload intervals give you the error message.

I tried a 1 minute upload with the station id and station key, but it still does not work. I continue to get the authentication failed error. I was able to successfully connect to WeatherCLoud, but can not get Wunderground working.

Just in case you’re entering one of your Station ID or password characters incorrectly copy them using the copy command from your editor rather than copying them manually. Try shorter upload times as well to see if that may make a difference.

Bizzare... I created a new PWS under a different Wunderground account and successfully connected. I then switched back to my original PWS, and now it works. Go figure. I have no idea why it suddenly started working, but I'll take it.
Thank you for all your suggestions.

Glad you finally got it working. Computers, you can’t live with them and you can’t live without them.
