...because there is no "gateway" specified.
Please switch to static IP (deselect DHCP on the "settings" page) and type in the IP of your router, presumably 192.168.1.1 as gateway and DNS. Set net mask to 255.255.255.0.
After that press save and check again on the "system information" page.

My meteohub sporadically says "no internet access" even though internet access is clearly working (I am logged in over the net).
This may be due to the fact that I am using a satellite internet connection which is überslow.
Perhaps the timeout for this test routing isn't long enough to account for a high-latency connection such as a satellite link?

Yes, this is for sure the explanation. I have a very slow internet connection (128 kbit upstream) and when I upload files in parallel Meteohub sometimes also say "no internet access". This is caused by the timeout given the wget-command that request the WAN IP from the internet. But I am reluctant to set this to a higher value, because it will always produce a longer wait for users who don't have their system connected to the internet.
So when you know what the reason is, the from time to time wrong display might by acceptable, I hope.

Can't you just schedule a periodic test and store the results on the ramdisk somewhere for the status page?
I realize this probably isn't a priority! ;-)
