Weather34 Aurora becomes Meteobridge Aurora and goes into the Cloud

In cooperation with Brian we finally moved a slightly updated version of the Weather34 Aurora dashboard into the cloud, now named Meteobridge Aurora. It now just needs a few install clicks on the Meteobridge GUI and you have a full Dashboard implementation in the Internet ready to use without having your Meteobridge exposed to the Internet.

No need to book web space, no need to install files and to define data uploads, and also no need to install updates when new versions show up. Prerequisite of using Meteobriodge Aurora is to have just released Meteobridge version 6.2 running. Please read here for details:

Setup screen has some additions like downloading and uploading data and two new charts for soil temperature.

Meteobridge Aurora is available for all Meteobridge systems that are eligible for software updates, so there are no additional costs in that regard. I hope this is an additional incentive to keep your Meteobridge on the optional update license plan
Meteonbridge Aurora will also shortly be made available for local installs on your own web servers as we want to give you all options how to make use of Brians brilliant dashboard designs.

Just to clarify my position . Having spent the last couple of months handing this over to Boris , I have the upmost faith in his ability to maintain and implement future ideas.Whilst I laid the groundwork he (Boris) surprised me how quickly he became familiar with the code,it's never easy understanding someones code especially if they don't follow the basic relative rules ,so hopefully I did that without being to complex.
Its worth noting Boris invested in the full licence version of CanvasJS charts this in turn allows to adapt to future versions or improvements in charts and their performance.
I will remain around until end of 2025 to support Boris where needed but I think you are all in safe hands from then on . It's been fun , challenging, rewarding , a few negatives over the last 10 years but ultimately you begin to either run out of ideas or the enthusiasm .
Hopefully one day Boris will look at building a tablet version of meteobridge by that I mean as an example NANO device built into a low cost android tablet imagine that would be a cool outcome but thats just an idea .
So please contact Boris for any support , resolving issues and so on ,as above I will be in the background until end of 2025.
Existing versions used on your servers/hosting etc are no longer supported by myself and no future updates from myself are planned and Boris mentions a local version which you should theoretically be able to update your existing version to Aurora Meteobridge via the simple update method. (Not Guaranteed or Confirmed time will tell)
a massive thanks to you all for year in year out template contributions, resolving issues and just generally being constructive in ideas and criticism .
Brian

Brian and Boris,
Thanks so much for this collaboration...great to see that W34 is protected going forward and the great work of Brian will live on.
I have created my cloud version which looks great and appears to be working perfectly. It looks like you can upload data from the previous version, but I am not sure how to download the archive. Are there any instructions?
Paul

Easiest way is to install the new version onto your existing install and then to use the download function there and to upload the resulting file to the cloud version. Please give me one or two more days to have the Master and Update installs for your working W34 instance ready.

There are some reports about Dashboard no longer available when doing changes on the settings screen. I found some German translations in the settings of some users, which seem to be a result of having a website translation active while working with the settings menu. Please don't do that, it renders the settings file useless and blocks operation after that.
If you cant reach your Dashboard anymore, please drop a note to "info(at)meteobridge.com" so that I can check. Thanks.

You find the Master and Update zip Archives here:
Just install the Update zip Archive over your existing Aurora install. Before doing so, please make a backup of your install, to have a route back in case it does not work. Once installed you have an option at settings to download data. Meteobridge Aurora in the Cloud allows to upload this data. That way you can transfer data from a previous install on some web space to the new Meteobridge Aurora.
Remark: All this references to an existing full Aurora install on a web server. Local Aurora installs on Meteobridge PRO, PRO2, NANO SD, RPI do not log data (they are lacking chart data completely), so yo cannot upload data from there.

Very nice!
For some reason, I can't get anything to display in Sun/Moon info, which may also affect position 9 in the template (blank).

Sun/Moon looks fine to me, may be your location coordinates are missing? Which theme are you on? #9?

Trying 5. I do have coordinates in the setup. Whats odd is that tile remains blank no matter what I specify. If I inspect the page, I see this:
weather34-clock-tablet2.php:1
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)
index.php:336 Closing

weather34-sun-moon-page.php:32 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set properties of null (setting 'innerHTML')

Thanks for giving me access. Issue was, that your timezone "America/New York" was invalid, it needs to be "America/New_York". I changed code to make it more tolerant, resp repairing time zones with spaces in it. It now also shows a warning on setup page, when an invalid timezone is defined.
