Empty clientraw.txt Files from Meteohub - SOLVED

I'm just starting a new thread so this doesn't get lost in the mix of the last thread....

The clientraw.txt WD Live files like hour and daily are all blank - Meteohub is not populating those files even though it is uploading them.....they are basically empty.... Only the base file or live file is populated with data.

I'm using version 2.7.. Do I have to go in and create graphs in the graph section for each one of these graphs or is WD Live creating the graphs from the data in the txt files.... If so - there is not data... hmmmmm Any suggestions! I've refreshed and resaved the templates several times and it is uploading them - they are just blank!

Hi Gregg,
sorry to hear about all your troubles:(
A tool to troubleshoot the clientraw files is this online parser:
http://www.tnetweather.com/wd-parser.php

You simply enter your website into the url field there:
http://westwoodsweather.com/weather

There´s one thing that may be of interest:
The parser gives the error message below with your files:
Wrong format I can only think of ASCII or binary which can be selected with ftp-clients, but meteohub does not have such an option.
I think it´s not needed, because the files will be sent in the correct format anyway.

Do you by chance have an additional ftp server for testing?
Maybe locally? NAS?

opps, I´m getting the same error with my files

BTW: Do you have a Vantage Pro2?
I wonder because the clientraw has much less entries than mine.

What´s with the messages in your systemlog?
Mine look like this for clientraw?

Yes - I have a Vantage Pro 2 - just temp/wind/humidity/baraometer/rain!

What's strange is the main clientraw.txt looks fine - but no data in the others which tells me that the Meteohub is not creating the files correctly or inserting the data... I may try to stop the process tonight when I get home and restart with one file at a time to see if I can get it to "kick" start...but so far this tells me it's a bug of some type....

Here is the current clientrawhour.txt - all dashes and no data... I'm stuck and looks like I have to wait until the developer gets back from vacation!

I'll take a look at my log when I get home - I haven't opened my port to access except from home!

Thanks for you guidance and assistance - I appreciate it!

Silly question, but have you tried recomputing your aggregated weather data (button on the Maintenance page)?

Maybe during your other server issues you somehow wiped or corrupted the historical bucket data and the system needs to rebuild all of those files from scratch.

Have you tried making any graphs with 1 hour or 1 day time buckets, to see if those are processed properly?

I think it just means that Boris still has work to do, e,g, the "-" place markers(?) are not something that WD itself puts in.

Well - I've tried the above to no avail... But now I have lost my internet connection again.. I got it back when it went to a different IP address - but it seems to not work when it goes to a specific one in DHCP - and it keeps going to the same IP address even though I have it blocked in my Linksys router....still wants to go to 106 but when it went to 101 I got a connection.... IP addresses are even't supposed to start until 110 - but for some reason Meteohub keeps going to 106......?

What do you mean by "I have it blocked in by my Linksys router"?

For my Meteohub I defined a static IP address on the router side (using the MAC address of the NSLU2 to identify it to the router) and then on the Settings page of the Meteohub web configuration I tell it use DHCP. Thus, when the Meteohub pings the router for an IP address, the router always gives it the same address that it was told to assign.

Even if the DHCP assignments on the router don't start until 110, you can always assign static addresses in ranges beneath that, and the client has no clue what the "real" DHCP range is on the router side; all it knows is that it asked for an IP address and got something that looks right.

Historically I've had problems with other networked devices when I assign the IP address manually on the client side rather than on the router side... it seems to create more messes than it solves, and the client doesn't care if it gets the same IP address every time even if it is set DHCP, whereas the router cares quite a bit about lease times and IP conflicts.

YEAH!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!! I got it all working!!! Here is what I did...

Internet:
For some reason it could not connect to the internet at IP ending in 106 and kept connecting to that IP for some reason under DHCP. I can't fix the IP in my router - so I disabled DHCP and set it in Meteohub - perhaps I'll change that when I get a new router!

clientraw.txt files:
Well - this finally started working after I realized I didn't have sensors for setting up graphs...so I went back through and resaved my settings under sensors and then the weather station - it reconfigured and it started working!

Thank you to everyone for your help....! The only thing I see is that the Heat Index and Windchill are not automatically switching even though it is checked to do so...

You can see the base station here until I get it wrapped into my regular site...

/liveweather.html
Switching depends on your current conditions.
If the temperature is above 17°C Heat Index is the one you´ll see. Windchill makes only sense with T below 17°C and winds higher than (I don´t no the value).
So, if you wanna see Windchill gauges I fear you need to move your Vantage from Colorado to Alaska ;) at least in summer time

I'm sure I've seen some people suggest that the wind chill calculation ceases to apply at 10°C.
As for windspeed I think that it needs to be above 3mph.
The WMR200 console seems to apply rules like that to its own display.

On the newest configurator - the popup instructions say that windchill will switch at 17C and that both instruments need to be on top of each other which I did - but I saw both instruments (text on text) - so it didn't actually show just Heat like it should have(it still showed both)....I agree - windchill shouldn't kick in or switch over until later this Winter - but both still showed even when I had the option selected and both directly on top of the other... No big issue though as I just made room for both instruments...!
