Meteobridge Pro Red - did a factory reset - unable to access settings. **solved**

Hi,
I have a Meteobridge Pro Red which hadn't been used for a few years - I did a factory reset and I can connect to in via a web browser with the default meteobridge login and via Putty as root. I have accepted the licence terms and can see some of the config pages in the browser, but I cannot access the pages under the System tab - I just get a blank screen for those pages.
I can see Meteobridge Landing Page (FW 1.4) when booting the device which seems to be making network connections out to the internet as there are entries in my firewall logs for accepted connections to:
Name: connect.meteobridge.com
Address 1: 2a01:4f9:6b:5423:6496::1 tau.meteobridge.com
Address 2: 65.108.64.96 tau.meteobridge.com
I can access the Network, Station, Weather Nets, Services, Licence, Monitor tabs.
I am prompted with a message banner:
Wizard: Please visit tab 'Station', finalize setup and press 'Save'
Wizard: Please visit tab 'System', finalize setup and press 'save and apply'
Attempting to access some of the pages seems to result in the device just hanging which requires a reboot for it to become responsive again.
Is there anything that I can attempt to recover this device?
The built in display screen is broken so I am limited as to how I can interact with it in that way.
