Changing the SMB password. Possible? ** solved **

Hi,

I have installed another meteohub with friends.
Because I manage the meteohub part it would be handy to have remote access to meteohub´s SMB folders.
In order to achieve this, SMB must be exposed to the internet.
But then clearly I needed to change the default SMB password.

So my questions are:
1. Can the default SMB password changed with smbpasswd?
and
2. would that have any negative side effect for meteohub´s internal routines?

3. As an alternative:
Would it be possible to transfer files to meteohubs graphs folder via SSH?

Danke,
W.

changing the smb password has no negative side effects.

you can also read/write any files from/to meteohub via scp.

then SCP seems to be the better solution.
I just tried the free program WinSCP and it works fine.

Two more questions:
1. Changing the default SSH password meteohub is also no problem?
2. Would it be possible to create authentication keys on the meteohub for SSH, so the logon would work without passwords?
Example described here

changing ssh pw is not expected to have any side effects.

I cannot comment on the key. Best you try yourself.

I changed mine months and many versions ago.
No known problems.
