EBox 3300??? It's out...

I just noticed that the Ebox 3300 is out and features more Ram and speed for $150 US + power supply... Will this also work - that seems to be a decent middle of the road price....

I am assuming you would just get the standard configuration...

WDL has it listed for about a week, but no avail. I will test a unit as soon as possible. Until that it is pure guess work if installer images will do... and normally there is always something in there, that needs a decent tweak...
Manufacturer DMP has it announced as avail since two weeks, but no avail at any of their resellers. I guess we will need some more weeks of patience until unit becomes available for true.

I have ordered a test unit about 2 weeks ago at "norhtec.com". They are still waiting for supply. I will let you know, when I have got mine. Hopefully, putting Meteohub on them will be a no-brainer... but usually there is at least a minor surprise ;-)
Some months ago I was told that DMP has announced general availability for these units will be mid January. So they are still in the committed time frame.

Sounds good - I'll wait to see when you get yours! WDL in the USA shows them on their site - but not sure if in stock or not...

Boris,
If I order a ebox3300 will you support it even though you have not tested it yet?
Thanks.

Finally, after a lot of emailing there are two ebox-3300 on its way from Norhtec to me. I expect to get them during next week. Before having tested these, I cannot say if Meteohub will work on it. I very much hope that it will, and I will try to adapt Meteohub to these if necessary. But without having the units here, I can say nothing for sure.

Awesome - I'm going to wait on your report! Thanks! It's down to either the Alix1.d or the Ebox 3300 if it works well!

The unit looks good in general, but I am still struggling with the r6040 LAN kernel modules, which are a piece of nightmare.
They work, but don't do correct signaling, if there is a LAN cable connected. This is needed to automatically switch back from WLAN to LAN on boot, when LAN connection is there.
The rest seems to work as expected. I hope I can finally conclude on the units in a few days.

What if you didn't have the WLAN option or disabled WLAN as I won't have that option - only a LAN connection?

I finally got ebox-3300 working with Meteohub :-)
WLAN is also supported now.
Next x86 installation image can be installed on ebox 3300 as well. So go ahead and buy one, if you like. Prices are at $150 or below for a non RS232, non-WLAN version.
