Importing WD Log Files into Weather Display

After imported the WD Log Files generated by Meteohub in a WD installation I noticed that WD couldn't get any value of the rain values. Attached is a log file that I've imported into WD.
What may be wrong? The log files or the WD that is reading incorrectly the files? [file name=122008lg.txt size=0]http://www.meteohub.de/joomla/images/fb ... 2008lg.txt[/file]

I've just re-attached the file. It was bigger than allowed. I've removed partially all data. Is just for example for analysis proposes. [file name=122008lg.txt size=104177]http://www.meteohub.de/joomla/images/fb ... 2008lg.txt[/file]

That looks pretty much as I'd expect. The meteohub export doesn't attempt to maintain the day, month & year rain totals (the three columns with -999 in them).

The pattern of decimal or integer figures doesn't exactly match the pattern in a genuine WD log file, but I'm not sure that would be significant.

Are you finding that WD doesn't recognise any of the rain data, or just doesn't update certain totals?

It's a very long time since I used the WD export feature. IIRC I "patched" the rain total columns by doing some pre-processing of the file (e.g. read into a spreadsheet, set up formula in the total columns, then write out again).

For on-going use I find the Meteohub "logging protocol" a much more convenient means of getting data into WD.

WD just doesn't get any information of rain data. When I generate the Weather Reports the rain data for each day is empty, thus, the total rain month goes empty too.

Actually, I'm importing data into WD because I want to produce Weather Reports and get some statistical data that I can't obtain with Meteohub. To do this I can't use the "logging protocol" or there is another way to import data into WD?

Thanks

Not even on the graph in the main WD screen?

Thankfully I've never needed to tweak rain in WD other than current day figures.
If people need to adjust rain data from past days I think they use View => Rain Chart => Correct, so it might be that you'd have the same problem even with 'native' logs?

You can use the logging protocol to collect hostorical data for a long period, but in my experience you'd find that you needed to do it in several chunks, with careful editing of the date & time in the [Davis download] section of WDISPLAY.INI between chunks.
Historic data is collected on start up of WD, starting from the date & time in the [Davis download] section.
However, with my set of sensors I find that if there is more than 16 hours or so to collect, the process crashes at around that point, but can be recovered by checking the logs to see what was the last record collected, adjusting the [Davis download] date & time, then starting again...
When WD is collecting data 'real time' this isn't a problem - I've had WD running collecting live data for days on end.

Another possibility might be WSWIN? Have you taken a look at that? Could it produce your reports? I use Meteohub's WSWIN export facility with that, and rain (plus everything else) gets importred just fine.
