Thoughts on quality but not too expensive CF Cards..
The leaders seem to be SanDisk and Transcend.... But which ones... SanDisk has Extreme 3 and 4 and Ultras.... Thoughts on something good but not out of this world price wise... Thanks!

I am not a CF card guru, but Transcend TS4GCF266 (has SLC cells!) looks to be a winner in regard to performance, reliability and price.

I looked at that card - but according to the Trascend site - it doesn't have SLC cells - only their industrial cards seem to indicate in their information that has SLC.... Like model TS4GCF45I....
Is SLC the best way to go?
Thanks!

In the German Transcend online shop the card is marked as SLC type. In the US shop they don't say anything about the cell type. Type of used cells seems to become a secret ;-)

Hard to say if it must be SLC. Time will tell. I would be willing to pay a bit more to get this additional margin of security. But that is just my personal opinion... may be a bit colored by the number of troubled NSLU2s caused by problems with USB sticks.
SLCs are able to take about 10 times the writes MLCs can handle.
