If you can see the samba drive listed in your network places, right click on the listing and send a copy of the link to your desktop.

Hi
Can reach meteohub on 192.168 etc, but cannot see drive in network places, only the adsl router. I have a sneaky feeling that this is down to the usual win xp firewall setup, even though it is turned off.:silly:

Make sure your Meteohub and computer are in the same Workgroup (defaults to WORKGROUP), and then it should appear in "My Network Places" within your Start Menu (if you don't have MNU in your start menu, right-click on the Start button, select "Properties" and select the "Customize" button next to the start menu radio buttons. Then click the "Advanced" tab and scroll down in the middle section until you find the checkbox for "My Network Places", click it, and click OK.)

Note that if you change a workgroup name you need to reboot the system.

If that doesn't resolve your SMB woes, then it might be a firewall issue, although I believe the default firewall settings permit network mapping within the same workgroup.

Thanks for all your help. In the time that I have been off line , this did ring a bell in my head and lo and behold, two workgroup names that did not match. Windows is not clever enough to look around your network and re-name as per requirement. Anyway I am in now and uploading the latest update.:)

If Windows did that all the people that understand the concept of workgroups would complain even worse ...

Ok, enough said on windows. I think what I was trying to say was that "windows should allow you to make certain changes and save or use them as your profile", I may be wrong on this answer. The last thing that I want is to open a hornets nest.

Hi P3R

Thanks for those links, I will investigate further on this. My wife is getting a little tetchy as I have been on the pc most of the day, I'm sure you understand.
