You probably mirrored the file system onto the first partition of the USB drive instead of to the "physical disk" (thereby overwriting the old partition with a new, bootable Meteohub file system.)

It seems to be a fairly common mistake around here when people are first setting up their systems.

If you're using DiskImage on a Windows machine, double check how you did it compared to the instructions in the Meteohub manual and try again.

I hav formatted the usb with fat32
have checked the usb stick with usb stick checker and re mirrored.

still the same problem.

the ebox3300 came with the "embed" CF card and I think has linux,XP an DOS on it- is this card the problem?

Please follow instructions in the manual exactly. Formatting USB stick as FAT32 is not part of it and is completely useless as DiskImage does a low level write to the USB stick that also includes to setup partition information.

As sevenless wrote, 95% of problems to get the USB stick booted is because DiskImage has not been used in "physical disk" mode. To achieve that, you have to scroll down the list of target devices until the physical disks appear. You can identify the one being the USB stick by it's size. Please setup your USB stick with DiskImage again.

Next error might be a wrong BIOS configuration. Please refer to the screen dumps in the manual for this.

Found the problem......Vista. Vista does not show the physical disk when using DiskImage. You cannot scroll down to select as it simply is not there
