Updating using the "auto method"

When I update from within my home network, there is very little time before she has finished re-computing.

Having used the auto system for the first time this morning and just checked on its progress. It is now into the re-compute by over 5 hours and still only 2 red bars loaded, is this normal? for using the update over the web.

I can't think of any reason for recomputation speed to be related to which type of install you used.

Added to that, I've use "Auto" for the last few updates and it has has no noticeable affect on recomputation time here.

If you think that it is "stuck", maybe try a re-boot? That should stop the current recomputation. You may then need to manually start a recomputation if one is needed.

Hi
What I should have done was, download the file at home and use the transfer method; this is what I have been doing all along. I know "auto" update has been out now for a few weeks, but I have resisted the temptation to try. It is now into 9hrs 54 mins and only two red segments to go on the recomputation bar. Looking at the System page, it does say version 4.3a
I will wait to see what happens and then look at what you suggested.

Thanks.

11hrs 19mins

Wow,:cheer: I may know what went wrong. I am connect to the nslu2 via my pc,cable,12 way hub to the nslu2, this my intenal house connections. To connectt to the outside world it also has to go through my adsl router. When updating the main pc is not switched on, as I do not need this to get to meteohub. But what may be at question is the way that all my network is connected together?

I will have to have a look as soon as possible.

I dont know if this is related, but Im also starting have the same stuck recomputation after doing the update (using File method) on an NSLU2.

I first spotted this doing the 4.3 update, I through it was a glitch so rebooted, but did not do a manual recomputation.

I have today done the 4.3a update using file method and it too is stuck on two bars for a couple of hours, which is normally the total time needed to do the whole recomputation.

Ill leave it for a couple of hours longer to see if there is any change, if not Ill have to reboot again an see if it get stuck doing the recomputation manually.
