Beta vs stable releases

Would it be possible for you to differentiate your software as beta releases and from time to time elevate one of them to a stable release when it has proven itself. If we could always have a stable release, at least not much more than three months old, to fall back on it would be a great help for us that doesn't always have full access to our equipment.
I really love the fast introduction of new features, frequent updates, and your level of response when there´s a problem, but sometimes it's nice to be able to be really safe. For instance it might in worst case be more than six months between when I have physical access to my station. I wouldn't feel too good having installed the latest version only to realize there's an important bug AFTER I have left it for such a long time.
