Flash SheevaPlug to MeteoPlug using Ubuntu 9.04
You dont have to install Ubuntu to your computer, you can use Live CD by using the option "Test Ubuntu without installing"
1. Get Ubuntu Desktop CD download at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and burn it to a CD.
2. Boot Ubuntu from CD and choose your language and with F3 you can choose your keyboard layout.
3. When Ubuntu is fully booted you have to change setting for login as root user.
4. To enable root login (according to the Ubuntu Guide), do the following:
1. System -> Administration -> Login Screen Setup
2. Security Tab -> Options -> Allow root to login with GDM (Checked)
4. Open a Terminal window: Applications -> Accessoiries -> Terminal
5. to set the root password use command in terminal window: sudo passwd and type the new password as asked.
6. Logout and login again as user: root and as password: your password you have chosen.
7. open places and copy meteoplug-installer.tgz to HOME.
8. open Terminal window and type: cd /home
9. Than you extract the file meteoplug-installer.tgz with command: tar xzpf meteoplug-installer.tgz
10. type: cd meteoplug-installer
11. for all the rest follow these instructions: http://www.meteohub.de/joomla/index.php ... &Itemid=29
For a non Linux user you must be able to complete the job.
